Out of my netbook, iPhone and Pandora, the Pandora is easily my favorite widget. However if you have no interest in games I'd probably suggest going for a small Netbook - I got a Samsung N210 for under $200 and it's just as good as my (oldish) desktop in many ways.
EDIT: The cheaper units that...
A few I am ashamed to say I never completed in the day, but had a blast doing so on Pandora:
Secret of Monkey Island 1 via ScummVM
Super Mario Bros 3 via FCE
Lurking Horror via Gargoyle
I'm going to have to check out this repo thing... I've been so lo-fi and not installed anything since the first couple of weeks of getting the Pandora ages ago (plenty there already to keep me occupied!).
Pretty sure I played Deflektor, which was perfect.
On a recent plane trip I played Crazy Cars 3 and D-Generation, which were both perfect and awesome games.
A couple of obscure ones I just had fun with:
Pulsar
[dead link to romsite removed]
Combat meets Berserk, a very zippy game.
Radical Radial
How had I never heard of this game? You control a "War Wheel" spinning wheel of death in a game eerily reminiscent of the much later LED Storm...
You can have my Zagg if you want, just PM me your address. I bought it on special but decided not to install it due to reports of reducing the touch screen sensitivity. Anyway, you can have it for free since you're a fellow Aussie Pandoran :)
Pretty much nothing I'd want that has been listed.
All I really want is a better low-power/hibernate mode, some TIME to set up everything how I'd like, and some further polish on a few of the programs (which will come) - everything else is pretty much where I want it.
I have a 16gb SDHC (FAT32) which is recognized by the Pandora, I can access/copy/delete files on it in the file manager, however when I try to load media from it through DeadBeef or Comix it says: "Could not mount SD16GB. Failed to execute child process "gnome-mount" (No such file or...
I bought a Zagg (Archos605 fits Pandora) but decided against using it after trying the stylus on it - I could tell it would reduce responsivness enormously - just dragging across it was difficult. If you lived in Australia you could have mine.
Pretty sure it's not. Mine's from the same lot and I noticed some differences when I installed Hotfix 4 so I assume it was at a previous version out of the box.
I also bought it at a substantial discount (I think it was only a few dollars), and I'm glad it was so cheap because I decided not to use it.
I was about to put it on when I thought I'd lay it on the table and try the stylus on it. Urk. It felt like rubbing the stylus against thick jello. It...
Got my (non-refurb) unit in Australia this morning. I've shown SUPREME force of will by not playing with it yet, despite working from home today.
Did open the box and first impressions are truly excellent. Love the form factor. No bowing on mine and the shoulder buttons are both great. The A...
