    Game Editor Pro

    Oidzone Gp2x

Game editors don't suck, but the people that use them usually do. Someone with a good understanding of game design can create just as good a game using an editor as they could using C. In fact lets face it - the vast majority of commercial games these days have virtually no gameplay at all, and...

    Does Music Support In Sdl_mixer

sdl_mixer is what most people use for music playback, so yes you've got something wrong somewhere (or you've managed to find a version of sdl_mixer that doesn't work correctly with oggs, which is unlikely). What happens when you try to play different formats?

    Firmware 2.1.2

If you already had 2.1.1 then you don't need to do the patching part (because all it does is patch everything to 2.1.1). What you need to do is put the kernel img in the root of the card (the only file you need if upgrading from 2.1.1) then boot with start+select pressed.

    Firmware 2.1.2

The loading screen should say 2.1.2. The info screen will say 2.1.1 (as all the menu files are identical to 2.1.1). I suppose they should have changed the version number there too just to be consistent but it doesn't really matter. You can always change it yourself if you want - it's just a text...

    GP2X Stderr Doesn't Appear On Gp2x Binary

stderr is a stream not a file, and usually that stream is dumped to the console. It just happens to be that on windows stderr is redirected to stderr.txt instead.

    Duke Nukem 3d 0.04

mmuhack wouldn't make any difference. Duke3d doesn't use the upper memory, and you can underclock and it will still be full speed anyway. Aspect ratio looks fine to me (round things look round) and it's hardcoded to 320x240. Yes, I've noticed that sounds are sometimes a little strange. Not sure...

    Duke Nukem 3d 0.04

http://www.sector808.org/wiki/gp2x:duke3d Cutscene movies now work (used to cause black screen crashes before). Because movies work, this means episode 4 (The Birth) is now playable. Function of A and B buttons switched to match other software. Pressing 'back' (was B, now A) on the main menu no...

Need Help: Duke2x Ep. 2 Level 9, Kill Overlord, Crash!

I've just fixed this. As Vimacs guessed, the problem was due to videos not playing, and I finally found the fix in Metaview's zodiac port. This also means that episode 4 should now start for everyone. I'll put out a release later today.

    Firmware 2.1.2

This looks like 2.1.1 but with a newer kernel (ie, all the menu, movie/music player files etc are identical to 2.1.1). So if you're upgrading from 2.1.1 you can just install gp2xkernel.img and ignore the rest. If you're upgrading from 2.0.0 you should install everything. No idea what the kernel...

    Gp2x Mk.2 W/ N-gage D-pad Mod + Ac Adaptor + Carrying Case + Tv-out Ca

There are quite a few countries using $ (Australia, New zealand, and Canada would be the largest after the USA I'd guess, but there's lots more) From wikipedia (and probably the same page you found that image) - In addition to those countries of the world that use dollars or pesos, a number of...

Anyone Knows How To Port A Dos Game?

Doesn't matter if it's dos or not, this is how you port - 1) Get a working GP2X dev environment set up and tested. 2) Get app source code. 3) Make sure source code is in a supported language and uses supported libs (otherwise you'll have a lot more work to do). 4) Mess with it until it compiles...

    Tv-out Works, But Sucks. Solutions?

PAL is worse than NTSC. NTSC is 720x480 so the only real scaling is horizontal (vertical is just doubled), which means on NTSC it kind of scales to 360x240. PAL scales to 360x288. I've never noticed any lines getting skipped on an NTSC LCD, but I've seen plenty of lines get added on PAL.

    Tv-out Works, But Sucks. Solutions?

Yeah, the tv out isn't as good as it should be. The GP2X has a couple of special 320x240 game modes, but in the GPH driver they don't work so everything gets scaled slightly instead (unless apps are specially written to get around the problem, but apart from a couple of pieces of homebrew most...
