Ask the user how much they complain about their GP2X. If they say a lot then it's a F200, a little bit = MK2, and a fair bit = MK1 ;)
Other than that I don't think anyone found a reasonable way to tell the difference between a MK1 and MK2 in code. I'd imagine the F200 should be easier to detect...
GPH never intended to have a touchscreen, they just go for whatever is cheapest at the time. The chipset used supports touchscreens but they must have found a supplier of cheap non-touch screens so just used them. I'd guess that 3.5" non-touch screens are becoming less common than 3.5"...
If you've got 3, downgrading is stupid, dangerous and pointless. If you've got 2.1.1 or 2.1.2 upgrading to 3 is stupid, dangerous and pointless. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Actually I read somewhere once that they now believe that true right handers are left brain dominant, but left handers and some right handers use both sides more evenly. So if someone is left handed you can safely assume that their brain is fairly even, but if they're right handed their brain...
It's great to see the site back again. Even though I don't own most of the systems, it was always nice seeing what work was going on in the other homebrew scenes.
