Are People Interested In Gp2X Modding Still?

Great! I didn't know how active this site still was. My GP2x is the F-100( B ) I'll put a full WIP guide up here when I start the project.

Are People Interested In Gp2X Modding Still?

After my N64 portable handheld project, and before doing more on my next and proper Multi integrated console system, I thought I would mod my GP2x, to paint job the case, add a d-pad, and Li-ion cells for powering the system. May keep the current casing, or may make one, not sure yet. Question...

Using A Psp Battery In Gp2X

Thanks! I just ordered a second battery, same one. That will give 7.2 amps at 3.6v. Also got a charger (didn't have one). Plan is to do two or three mods on the GP2x: D-pad, and also modify the GP2x case backing to take the Li-ion cells. May also do a paint job too, not sure yet. These mods...

Anyone Still Doing Gp2X Dpad Mods?

I could well be up for it. When I complete the N64 video log project (see my Wordpress site in my sig), I have may projects to do afterwards, one of which is to put a proper d-pad into my GP2x (using a NES controller d-pad probably) and also installing Li-ion cells at 7.2 amps at 3.6v I may as...

Using A Psp Battery In Gp2X

BTW - the S-video output I referred to was via the official TV out cable, which outputs S-video. The colour saturation and bleeding was evident the same way on a full sized television or a modded PAL PSone screen with stated capacitor on the chroma line. Same result. That is why, converting...

Using A Psp Battery In Gp2X

Interesting stuff. I know you have good knowledge of the GP2x in this regard. Please post details of how I can therefore make best quality output via S-video (pinout, components, links, etc). GP2x is a nice little system, however I really find the screen too small!

Using A Psp Battery In Gp2X

Thought I read that the RGB on the GP2x chip outputted in analogue as opposed to digital (or the other way around), and I think I remember reading about a chip that converted between the two; if that is right, then it would mean RGB that could be read hopefully natively by an RGB screen. It's...

Using A Psp Battery In Gp2X

Via the battery terminals. When I get around to it, i'm going to see how long this battery lasts for, if it is a good time, will buy a second one, wire two cells together to double the amps and also rig up a recharger unit to a charging jack. I want to also make a slightly larger case for it...

Using A Psp Battery In Gp2X

Got a PSP battery, 3.6v at 3600mA. Doesn't work in the PSP for some reason, took battery apart to make sure it was making contact ok. Might be because it was a Chinese battery! So, put it into GP2x, and it boots fine. Battery is small, room with a modded back case to fit two in there, giving...

Bacteria's Project - Portable Handheld Dreamcast - The "intopl

On many consoles, pretty good; however the DreamCast is a very hungry beast indeed.

    Batteries Drained In Minutes

I seem to recall a while ago someone saying a reason the batteries die fast on the GP2x is that sometimes the capacitors on the GP2x die, no idea if this is correct though.

How Close To Excellence Are The Emulators Now?

Been away from the GP2x scene for a while, I dip my toes over here sometimes though, but not often like I used to, hence this post. I know this is lazy, but I was wondering how great all the emulators are now for the GP2x; and the best ones for each platform. When I last used a GP2x emulator...

Intografx - Completed Portable Turbografx Console!

Yes Tag5, I have more systems up my sleeve to portablize! DaveC - indeed, RGB is better usually. The PSone screen does RGB; and the TurboGrafx was modded to do RGB, so the image on the IntoGrafx is crisp, with good colours (as RGB).

Intografx - Completed Portable Turbografx Console!

Good, join the ModRetro site ( http://forums.modretro.com/index.php ) and make a portable Jourdy288! Yes, no software needed. The board was only 2 layer so easier to locate the traces, although some of them branched two ways and both parts needed wiring to as the junctions got removed in the...

    Stuck & Dead Pixels Help!

One thing I read sometime ago, handy if you have just a couple of dead pixels, is to press down on the pixel itself with your stylus (not3too hard!), it might make the pixel work again (or may not).
