Different games use the hardware to different amounts, but it is not strictly: 2D games are fast and 3D games are not (at least not on the PSX for which rendering wise 2D and 3D games are essenical the same AFAIK anyways).
At least that is what I think Tinnus wanted to say.
Damn... that will definitly makes the decision a lot harder.
The Wiz now really sounds like the perfect handheld linux gaming device (unlike the Pandora, which sounds like the perfect "all in one, wonder" ;) ).
You forgot Ikaruga!
Elemental EGG something (forgot the exact name) is pretty good too.
Oh and the arcade ports, like MarvelVsCapcom and Streetfighter3Alpha are really good too.
Doom3 isn't so impossible once the source is released (which should be sometime late next year).
The game works with surprisingly good graphics on the Xbox1 (which only has 64mb ram as mentioned), and if you render the game not at 800x480, but at 400x240 on the pandora it has an even lower...
Does having owned the GP32 and the GP2x and having sold them for a really nice price before the pandora informations became wide spread, still count as having both units and waiting for the Pandora? :P
Check out the video of a regular Unbuntu running on the Beagleboard at a higher resolution than the pandora screen, and you will get an idea just how fast it is (perfectly usable, including stuff like Firefox3 and GIMP, as shown in the vid).
Please don't donate to commercial projects, as that screws up all proper business plans. The Pandora can only be successful in the long run if it can suvive without subsidaries.
Keep that money to support homebrew developers (that will also help the pandora more in the long run).
Oh and all...
The small size and the smaller price point definitly speaks for the WIZ. It the build quality is good, and they change the second dpad to buttons it actually might convince me to buy one.
But currently it is still the Pandora I am planning to buy (definitly can't afford both).
They have another sale this weekend. This time without Steam.
And there are also several engine enhancements in the upcomming patch.
P.S.:
