    There are 4GB SD cards too. I don't think SanDisk were the first ones. SD are based of the MMC standard. SDs are MUCH faster than SMCs.

    Emulating the DS right now only makes sence for the PC(or MAC). Since Emulators are very useful during testing and debuging of homebrews. Not much use emulating something you can still buy (new) just to play games(which you can still buy).

    Those specs are old. The GP2X supports USB as a device and unpowered host. The FAQ has the later info.

    You can use Dev-C++'s package updages manager to install SDL and/or Allegro. Dev-C++ uses gcc as it's compiler, same as GP2X's SDK will use. Also, since the GP2X will use SDL, it might be better to learn it rather than Allegro.
