Good work :)
I think my GUI needs to get more white modern glossy plastic to match those sounds. They are quite warm, but that might be dampered by Pandora's poor frequency response. The shutdown sound is a bit intense. It's usually a slow process, so hitting you with alot of sound a while...
The emulator simply wraps ES 2.0 to OpenGL 2.0 so the performance depends on your graphic card.
The OpenGL emulator won't work on Intel GMA 945. I'm wondering if you can get it working with Mesa 3D however...
Now it works good on AMD's OpenGL ES 2.0 emulator :)
The font rendering is not perfect yet, but that will hopefully be fixed soon :)

I hope simple mode won't end up with X, but it does need a way to manage applications without it.
Currently Gmenu runs on X and it's unknown if it's going to stay that way.
Well it's not meant as a replacement of X, just as an simple/fast alternative. You could start kdrive from the menu to run all the slow ports, then return back when you are done with X. You could also start applications from the "simple mode" in X11 via X wrapper. That might be slow for high...
Getting basic 2D acceleration (double buffering, alpha blitting) is something I'd like to see, especially since I don't know if the official drivers even support this and it will make my GUI faster. (OpenGL and OpenVG has some overhead)
I was hoping that the launcher/task switcher has the job of changing clock speed. Then you would specify two different clock speed for an application, minimum clock speed and background addition (which would be added to the currently running application's minimum clock requirement)
The clock...
Well I read 10MB free after Ubuntu is loaded...
Ubuntu will suck, expecially if want speed or you don't want use a stylus.
There is also 30MB/s SD cards available that clould be used for swap :)
I tried to make some 2D mapping thing for OpenGL ES 2.0. I didn't get 1:1 mapping :(
