So here's a question... pal or ntsc isos? Is there a benefit to one over the other? PAL is 50 frames per second, while NTSC is 60... would we be better off going with PAL as the maximum refresh rate is lower and therefore would be easier to achieve? Any difference? Thoughts?

Not sure what mine is, but it's definitely not working.... I'll have to find a different version.

My version of Wipeout 2097 hangs at the loading screen... tried both HLE and BIOS... think I need to try a different image. Is yours PAL or NTSC?

Can somebody explain what exactly the over/under-clocking of the psx cpu does? By default, it's 50... lower values improve performance?

Actually, I don't know much about them... my assumption would be that it's a range from 0-100 and that a value would 70 would mean that the joystick doesn't register until you've exceeded the first 70% of the way between the centre and any direction.... that would definitely explain why we were...

I'm also finding that diagonal movement is difficult. I tried out MK4 last night, and found it difficult to do sideways jumps through the air (as you said, up+left, up+right etc...) Haven't noticed this with other emulators though, so I agree, I think it's the way the emulator deadzones are set up.

If you look at the pandora compatibility list, they make note that the file format does make a difference - definitely supports your theory. Any value to starting our own compatibility list now that we have a playable emulator?

Ok, resolution question: Why does the video sometimes seem way too wide for the Caanoo? Wasn't the resolution of the psx 320x240?

Okay, I just discovered something. I've been tinkering a lot with the different settings to see if I could get better performance with certain roms, and I think I messed up a setting in the process. I thought I'd manually restored all the settings, but I was still getting poor frame rates and...

    Gngeo Issues

Yes, as Yoshi says, it's a 2-step process. First you install the Wiz pack "base install", and then you decompress the Caanoo packs overtop of the Wiz install to apply Caanoo-specific updates/fixes.

Hi, I tried out driver2, but wasn't getting as good a framerate as you... would you be able to post what your settings were? (which gpu plugin, audio settings, did you change the setting for the psx clock?) Are you using different settings for each game, or just a single global setting? Thanks!

    Gngeo Issues

I just got my caanoo a few months ago, and rather than using Yoshi's pack, I used this: http://dl.openhandhelds.org/cgi-bin/caanoo.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,694 The only reason I used this instead of Yoshi's was because it also included some apps. So, I used that, and it includes instructions about what...

Sounds to me like you're having issues with your rom sets. Try googling "caanoo lostsite" and check out the download section.... some useful stuff there...

Well, that's disappointing... too bad the mods don't put more of a focus on keeping this a collaborative environment.

    Updating Firmware - Should I?

Personally, the first thing I did when I received mine was downgrade to 1.0.6.... it seems it produces the best benchmarks (if the benchmarking tool can be trusted). So, if you're using your caanoo strictly for gaming/emulators, I think 1.0.6 is your best bet. But, I don't think wireless...

His insulting attitude is bad enough, but this time he really crossed the line. I reported his post, you should do the same. This whole community is based on people helping each other - he's the exact opposite of what it needs to thrive/survive.
