Wording is key
"Would you back a new Kickstarter campaign aimed only to produce an encapsulated prototype where the rewards wouldn't be the final console?"
Notice the word "final". If they meant not having a prototype console as a reward, they would have just said "console".
"While you...
Bad troll is bad.
Learn some reading comprehension.
That's clearly asking if you'd back when the reward is the prototype version, not asking if you'd back for no reward at all.
I'm serious. If the Pandora team can manage to port the Pandora OS to Android devices like Galaxy S6, I'd be willing to pay $100 for the keyboard/controller from the Pandora in the form of an attachment.
This could be a market for people that would want a Pandora, but would rather spend ~$100...
They both run ARM based systems, so it should be possible, right?
I have a Galaxy S6, and the Android OS sucks ass.
Tabs constantly reloading when I switch to it, apps freezing when I minimize them, mobile websites, etc.
If I could install the Pandora's OS on my Galaxy S6 while I wait...
I'm not. I'm serious that if he struggles to read text on a 480P screen at whatever the Pandora's size is, he needs to get his eyes checked.
I use glasses, too, though for distance (I take my glasses off when reading something or using a handheld/phone).
EDIT:
Also, resolution does play...
I use glasses (for distance) and even I find it very easy to read small text on a 1440P screen whatever Galaxy S6' size is (~5").
You're forgetting that while the screen is small, you hold it much closer to your face.
What's the difference between a small screen up close and a big screen...
If text on the Pandora was hard to read, it's because the resolution (480P) was too low.
Either that, or you have really bad eyesight and should seriously check if you need glasses.
Well, calls and texts would take up your 4G data, and since unlimited isn't truly unlimited (slowed after ~21GB), that would mean that you'd randomly get calls disconnecting and be unable to send texts.
(I've actually had to occasionally switch to WiFi at home because of 4G suddenly becoming...
Wow, you're right :(
I think their major problems are:
1. Windows is behind a stretch goal, so people don't want to back unless it meets said stretch goal.
2. They don't want to show their current prototype because it's not the final version, making people skeptical and withdraw their...
Why do people keep trying to compare it to Ouya?
Ouya was a glorified screenless Android phone. Heck, you couldn't even install Google Play Apps without hacking the device!
Smach Z is going to be x86-based and running real PC games, and it'll be fully open so you won't need to hack it to...
If it fails, then handheld gaming PCs will probably not take off.
If they didn't even have working prototypes, do you think AMD would be supporting them? And why wait 2 years, doing nothing at all, to just do a fake kickstarter to scam money? Why not just run the kickstarter immediately...
No, it's just that the crappy Android browser kept glitching when attempting to copy/paste.
Please upvote this if you support the Smach Z:
