I'm thinking of leaving this forum too and dropping support for OpenPandora altogether. I was thinking of bringing it back with official support, you can forget about that now after seeing this latest 'hustle'. If you do active harm to my project and that of affiliated projects like Snes9x...
I just saw this and once again I am disappointed by the boundaries that are being attempted to be pushed here -

"It is powered by a Rasperry Pi 3B (included) and the acclaimed Emulation Station software."
"M.A.M.E. (Arcade...
As an additional followup to this, we are trying to resolve this situation in an amicable fashion with Retro-Bit. They have gotten back to me and confirmed it was using Snes9x and that this will be removed. An agreement is not yet finalized, but we might be able to turn this situation around in...
Hi there @comradekingu, nice to see that this forum is quite different from the usual forums where you often get a derisive and hysterical crowd to jump at you. I quite appreciate the quality of the posts I have seen so far, so hopefully I can keep it up.
I do indeed agree, that as individuals...
Like I point out in the post directly above yours, in Hyperkin's case they can't pretend anymore they don't know about this issue. It has been pointed out to their own employees on their own forum since at least 2014. I have pointed it out several times, I have e-mailed them several times, hell...
that won't fly for Hyperkin anymore though, they have known about this situation now since 2014 - witness this -

This is one of their employees (Retron Tech). On their own forums, people have pointed out the issue with the non-commercial...
A western contractor from Hong Kong has been sublicensing out code he does not own to all these companies, and it contains noncommercial software like Snes9x. So yes, it is more or less like you describe.
This is appreciated, thanks. I still believe we should do a rolling release/nightly setup for Pandora though. I don't have a Pyra but I think it should be backward compatible so it might work out? Maybe we can have some contributors to Pyra to help us out I guess in case the Pandora port needs...
Hyperkin only released the sources to their emulators once somebody had reverse engineered the disassemblies and proven where it came from. They originally acknowledged nothing and pretended it was all made from scratch. It was not done with good intent right from the beginning. Only when it...
Snes9x 2010 is not under the GPL license, neither is Genesis Plus GX. The issue with Retron5 and their contractor has always been the usage of noncommercial emulators.
Let's not go over this again and keep taking my quotes out of context and spinning it around, I am sorry to say but you are now...
Well, as aforementioned, we are in the final process of setting up an entity of our own and we are open to a lot of ideas, as long as it finally starts benefiting us as well so that we can keep the project alive, we can recoup programmers' hard work, we can keep paying for all these expensive...
Yes, that is me alright. I try to notch it down a bit, but honestly, it is well intentioned, I mean no ill harm by writing a long winded message, I just want to make sure every specific thing is covered and that I got my full thoughts across. Hopefully it gets seen that way, better to be verbose...
Yes, what EvilDragon described happened years ago. I am not proud of it either, however, do take into consideration that we were going through dozens, and dozens, and dozens of these same entrepreneurs all doing the same stuff at that time, and us never even seeing so much as a single penny...
For the Nxengine port I baked SDL_gfx into the libretro port so that it doesn't 'require' SDL but it's still actually there. (the SDL audio code was removed, though - as was the input code).
For the libretro Doom port I had to do a lot of manual editing to get the SDL code out, but I succeeded...
ToadKing tried FBA on the Raspberry Pi through RetroArch and apparently the performance was really bad for CPS1/CPS2/Neogeo games. So you might well need GnGeo for acceptable Neo-Geo performance on something like a Pandora or Pi (I admittedly have no idea how the OMAP3530 in the Pandora compares...
No, I didn't mean it like that at all. In fact, I checked out your ARM versions of Picodrive, PCSX-ReARMed and co - it's impressive work and I would love to see them as libretro ports. I just hope that (in general) we can keep libretro ports somewhat portable/compilable on all libretro targets...
Hi there lifning,
i've been considering an SNES9x 1.43 libretro port actually as well. While the 1.52 fork (with alterations) that I call SNES9x Next runs all games fullspeed on PS3/360 (with some necessary speedhacks to accomplish this), SA-1/SuperFX games dip below fullspeed on the Wii. Xbox...
