    It's the keyboard layout.

And how do you imagine German keys implemented exactly? If you want a modifier+key, then let's put them on SAOU so no extra characters are printed on the physical keys. If you want dedicated keys, then please explain what will non-German users do with those 4 keys?

    idea: webcam

I find it hard to believe that a "30.0 Mega HD Webcam" can be sold for $3.59. How many pixels does this Chinese crap have really? EDIT: oh, 320 X 240. Haven't seen such small resolution in a while.

    It's the keyboard layout.

If I'm not mistaken, this software is called xmodmap and that's exactly what I have in mind. But having a default can-input-them-all layout with a compose key still seems like a good idea to me.

    It's the keyboard layout.

Much as I hate compose keys while typing, it's the only way we can: a ) accommodate all those special letters on a small keyboard and b ) remain consistent about what you print on the physical keys, no matter the language. People who type in their language a lot will have to use xmodmap and...

    It's the keyboard layout.

ß is an S rather than a B. But I agree that labeling is not needed here.

    It's the keyboard layout.

I don't see much difference in importance between accented letters and "letters on their own". In French, "a" and "à" are both valid words, and so are "préfère" and "préféré". It would be just fair that everyone use the same input method, and since there is not enough keys for every need, it's...

[Cancelled] Aluminium cases are NOT being made!

I'm sorry for being unsupportive, but is it possible to cancel? Many things have happened since the order, and I would now settle for just a black plastic case RIGHT NOW to replace the cracked parts rather than waiting for a great alu case SOMETIME SOON.

Question about Rebirth boards and Classic Pandoras

In my experience LCD cable is not that hard to handle if you swap boards: just unclip LCD and WIFI cables and reclip them to the new board. Changing the case is more delicate, as the LCD cable should be extracted from the old case and put in a new one, which exposes it to all sorts of damage...

dedicated USB OTG mouses (check for interest..)

None. But neatness is the point of this whole thread I guess.

dedicated USB OTG mouses (check for interest..)

Here's a prototype I have built. It's basically a mouse with 3-port hub inside, one of which is soldered to the mouse itself. The other two ports have regular USB connectors and can be used to attach USB nano dongles. In my setup I have included a WL0084A b/g/n stick which is recognized by...

NX client, such as QtNX? freenx?

When I asked if there were anything else about NX, I meant anything other than compression. Like session management, or (why not) OpenGL forwarding...

    How do you start telnetd?

Since you're using untrusted forwarding for some reason, may I ask if you have it enabled? I'd recommend using trusted forwarding (ssh -Y) which works out of the box.

dedicated USB OTG mouses (check for interest..)

What I meant is that I'll have to buy parts and then sell the mouses, so there will be some sort of accounting (revenue from selling - production costs = income subject to taxation), right? Even if there is no real income, I'll have to explain why I don't declare those sums coming from online...

    How do you start telnetd?

to fix xauth issues, simply symlink your ~/.Xauthority file to the appdata of the PND you want to run. For Java-based PNDs, the symlink should be placed in appdata/java Also, mousepad segfaults on remote X11 display. I've built leafpad as a replacement leafpad.gz

NX client, such as QtNX? freenx?

What does NX add to plain SSH forwarding? I understand xpra keeps your session between disconnects, something SSH is unable to provide. If NX provides compression that could serve in low-quality networks, but I value low CPU and memory usage above network efficiency. Is there anything else...

    Port Requests

I use X forwarding over SSH all the time. In my experience pandora SSH server takes about 15% CPU if the X window is constantly updated (web page with some animations, terminals scrolling lines every second etc.). If the window you forward is mostly static (like a text editor), the CPU share...

    Port Requests

We had this discussion before. The point is, Tor browser is essentially Firefox, so it is insecure unless it is updated as frequently as Firefox itself. Also, Palemoon browser works better on the pandora.

dedicated USB OTG mouses (check for interest..)

I wonder what are the legal implication if I decide to produce some devices and sell them. Last thing I want is to get myself into some complex tax paperwork.

Game Maker: Studio - Linux export module

Do you by chance know what the Linux export module uses? If there is a possibility to use SDL, we're saved*, since Exagear has no issues with SDL, and avoiding WINE altogether would be another performance boost. EDIT: according to the wiki the answer is no. * if the game was released for...
