I run a shop, when we first started we tried round numbers because we didn't like ending things in 9.
We later changed because the general public REALLY can't tell the difference between $40 and $49 even if $50 is too much.
It's funny how the mind works sometimes. :)
I hope everyone has a...
Whichever shop selling could just offer a Pandora with a wait option.
The wait option means that your Pandora is sent to satisfy a preorder and you will get theirs when funds allow.
It's actually not very complicated at all and is a great idea.
Thanks for clearing things up a bit for me.
I guess my order got transfered to Craig since I originally ordered two Pandoras from Evil Dragon and then upgraded them into one 1ghz and since have had no confirmation of delivery.
@Evil Dragon: could you send me a PM so we can confirm this...
Does anyone know when the 1ghz pre-orders are supposed to be completely shipped?
Will it be in one big wave or multiple small waves of 50 units or so?
Thanks for your time.
Very good to know! I had been seeing tutorials recommending SDL_ttf but was worried that it wasn't included on open handhelds and I would have to include it or static compile or something.
I'm not sure what you mean by precalculate for every ASCII letter and then blit though. Do you mean just...
I like it but shorter:
PandoraK (original 256 Pandora)
PandoraM (512/rebirth)
PandoraG (1ghz)
Quick to use in chat too: "Does she have the original K or the M version?"
I'm also down for calling the Gigahertz version Bacon...
because I love bacon.
I'm beginning to learn C/SDL to try creating homebrew for the Pandora.
What is a good way to render text to a surface that will work well on the Pandora?
(I don't have my Pandora yet.)
It doesn't have to be dynamic or 3D. I just want a portable way to render anti-aliased fonts.
Thanks in...
I couldn't find any information on PONDS and openhandhelds.net looks like it would only be a good resource to drum up more interest in making such a project cross platform.
If there is enough interest in seeing other gamer's status I'm hoping we could either A) reinvigorate an old project or...
I was wondering what the community thought about a program specific to community interactivity.
Coming from ye' ol' gaming days I am really enjoying some of the new services available to us as gamers such as Steam/Desura/Playstation Network/xfire/etc.
It would be nice to be able to keep...
I could see a Pandora "Lite" being worth it in the future as long as it was just a thinner version of the Pandora 1ghz "phat".
When the DS lite came out I ran out to get it because of the many improvements it offered over the original DS.
Those improvements being better screen (same...
I just got my 3DS XL today (here in the US of A).
I'm impressed.
I've played on many hand held gaming devices but it's been a long time since I've actually said "wow" out loud because of one.
My plan now is to sell off a few old consoles/games from my collection and get the wife an XL too...
The problem with emulators is that they don't interact with the system hardware. So if you need an alarm to wake you up there's no way for the emulator to bring your machine out of sleep mode. This is sort of important for a calendaring program.
