    Round 4. Fight! (2010-10-12)

The last batch of nubs (with the less-fancy material) was 300K, wasn't it? So this didn't even do so much for us. Of course, if it's not any more expensive, it's worth doing. More to the point, you said you were shooting for 500K. Are you still, or are you going to call it done with this...

    Pandora On Wired.com

Nice try, but sorry, no. The Headline also explicitly includes the word "Failure" (right before the "in my pocket"). From the article (stress added by me): You're right that the second half of the article appears more of a timeline/history. Starting with: and then, of course: It's quite...

    Round 4. Fight! (2010-10-12)

If we're lucky (ha!) faster than that - testing should be able to continue overnight, in theory. ... ? I second this question. I'd be very interested in hearing more about this setup.

    Round 4. Fight! (2010-10-12)

Not exactly, no, but you came damn close to saying it. and http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/56330-second-batchers/page__view__findpost__p__912826 Admittedly, at the time you didn't think the nubs would take nearly this long. (I don't begrudge *that* wait, just that it couldn't...

    Round 4. Fight! (2010-10-12)

Interesting. So who's fault was it that the original batch wasn't up to spec? The production company (who made a shoddy product) or the design company, who didn't test them properly? BTW, I like your title. :)

    Round 4. Fight! (2010-10-12)

The new nubs *arrived*? I thought it was just the material they were waiting for, and then they could make the nubs. If these pass, do they have enough material to make the entire set of nubs? (How long will that take?) If not, how long is the wait to get enough material to do so?

    Dying LCD ribbon.

Of course they will be. That's like saying this latest nub revision (any updates, on that, BTW?) is the "best so far", when the first few attempts were riddled with issues. It's also like saying this next 1000 will take much less time than the first 1000 - well I'd hope so, because the first set...

Agred, then. Thanks for the explanation!

Cases cleared for further transport (2010-10-04)

If that's the case, why make 8 trips today? Wouldn't it have been faster/cheaper/easier to do just one (so you could start building), and then get the rest tomorrow, once the van is fixed? That's a fast turn around time for something that "burst into flames"!

    Pandora Original Case For Sale

If you don't mind my asking, how is it that you have a case, but not a Pandora? I thought they were shipping them together, since the case by itself isn't so useful...

    Two Years Today!

It's the general principle of the thing. If was supposed to be shipped last Tuesday, we had a slot on a plane. Then the end of last week, getting a slot should be "doable". Suddenly it was extra expensive to do so (was the slot on Tuesday not costlier), and ships on Wednesday. And now, maybe it...

    Is There A Problem?

Who said anything about re-shuffling the order numbers? Create a giant spreadsheet with pandoras 1-4000, sort the three sets of orders from you Fatih and Craig, merge them together, and adjust based on how many each order contained. Heck, if you send me a (redacted) subset, I'll write a script...

    Two Years Today!

Maybe, but it's a lot slower than the 500/week they claim they're capable of, which still isn't enough to finish by the 18th. It's like saying "well, the nub company is really doing a bang-up job on the testing now, not too much longer!" when we really should be saying "HTH didn't they do the...

    Is There A Problem?

Kind of like how long they took from the last shipment? http://pandorapress.net/2010/05/07/12-cartons-207kg/ 5/7, (yesterday?) was 9/29... So 4 months, give or take a week.

    And so they double... (2010-09-30)

I wrote a response over here: http://www.gp32x.de/board/index.php?/topic/56835-two-years-today/page__view__findpost__p__919780 before I saw this double-post (pun intended).

    Two Years Today!

So, over a month ago (~Aug 26) they told us that they would have the remaining 3000 done by Oct 18. Five weeks later, they've only done 1000. They claim they can do 500 boards a week (clearly not what they've been doing for the past five weeks) but they'll have to do better than that (700 a...

Ok So, How Many Pandoras Are Shipped To Customers?

Sure, but my interpretation still stands. If the case issues were only going to plague batch 1.1, and batch 1.2 is fine, then batch 2.* will be fine, as well. Of course, that's still dependent on the latest 4000 cases not having any flaws. And I agree that an official comment would be appreciated.

    Angstrom - Alternate Insallation Possible?

Eek! /me blushes. I mean the engine, of course. But my point still stands. Besides, if you're fixing a car, you should know more about the parts. In a click-and-go case, it's less necessary.

    Angstrom - Alternate Insallation Possible?

If it can be run on a Pandora, is it that hard to email a script that will make/create the bootable card? Download this zip, put a card into each slot, an run the script. Poof, you have two bootable SD cards. (Sure, you can probably only do one at a time since the image probably needs to be on...
