    Nubs and a Schedule (2010-11-04)

Referring to the populated boards (minus nubs), not the nubs. Remember how the board company claimed all 3000 boards would be finished on the 18th? Then weren't? That deadline. I had, in fact, checked my ... well, facts ... . Did you follow the link I'd included?

One video per day - Discussions

Are you going to go down and help build again? Otherwise, it'll take him a week or so to build them and start shipping to you, so that's at least another week of videos. Not to knock the amount of work you've been doing - but is the increase just from shipping out a bunch of Pandoras really so...

One video per day - Discussions

Awesome SNES video. I really enjoyed the continual commentary. One question - what is it that's flashing across the screen at the beginning of the video, while you're talking in the chair? Same thing from yesterday's Descent video.

    Nubs and a Schedule (2010-11-04)

Sorry; you'd meant it as a statement about their status, not an update on something that was changed. However, shouldn't those 1000 have been "finished and ready for testing" since the 18th? Or so they claimed. Which means they haven't done any testing for the past three weeks??

    Nubs and a Schedule (2010-11-04)

Finished as in including testing? Because I thought 2000 had already been finished, but only 1000 of them had passed the tests?

What app / game do you want to see? :)

Which one was it? On a related note, the stalker has show me this posting. Don't you think "The Pandora is finally back in production" is a bit misleading? Depending on where you draw the line, either it's been in production this whole time -- they've been making boards in Texas, right? -- or...

    Status summary (2010-10-31)

I don't understand what's different here. The Case company did the *exact* same thing, and you were up in arms about it (yet did nothing). Now you claim they were reasonable, and the Board company is the only negligent one. Yet you told them (several times) to halt production, because of other...

    Bunch of Nubs (2010-10-28)

Great news. Does he like them enough to give the green light, so proper mass production can begin tomorrow?

Fresh news from the board production (2010-10-20)

What's so hard/long about just giving the go-ahead? http://pandorapress.net/2010/10/21/musical-interlude-all-you-need-is-nubs/comment-page-1/#comment-17511 Is there some critical step I'm missing? You know how slow the Chinese company can be - if you order them now, you'll be lucky if you...

A good explanation. Works for me. Thanks!

    Coming closer (2010-10-25)

Could you explain the purpose of this? If it was something like the cases, I'd understand an extra delay for making sure everything fits/works/is up to snuff. But what can we really tell from a few sample nubs? That they pass 400k cycles was already determined at the factory, and I doubt mweston...

Well, not to beat a crippled horse, but why?

Cases cleared for further transport (2010-10-04)

Well, no. I don't want a few burnt out guys here. But I guess I just don't see how it takes much time at all. The issue has been resolved, they've got all the specs/details (they have, after all, already made samples), all they're waiting for it the green light. A quick email, and they can get...

Cases cleared for further transport (2010-10-04)

Why wait? If they're not working on building cases (or are they working on the rest for batch 2?) they might as well be doing them for us. The last I'd heard, they had a minimum order of 10k for the cables. Has that been resolved?

Questions, Curiosities Re: the Business-end of Open-Pandora

That's like saying "the surgeon left a towel in my chest after heart surgery a year ago. He only found out about it now, but he's scheduled me to have it removed in a couple of days." Sure, it's great that they're fixing it fast, but it really should have been tested originally, or at the very...

Questions, Curiosities Re: the Business-end of Open-Pandora

I have that feelling, too. History with this project has shown us that slow news is bad news.

Questions, Curiosities Re: the Business-end of Open-Pandora

I respectfully disagree. The nub company has tried to solve things very quickly, which is admirable, but we don't have any previous speeds to compare it to. Certainly, it's their fault for not properly testing them in the first place. I saw absolutely no speed improvements from the case...

Questions, Curiosities Re: the Business-end of Open-Pandora

I was about to object, and then noticed WizardStan beat me to it. I second this. The primary company to be mad at is the *CASE* company, which yanked your chain for months about tweaks, and another week for painting, and all the rest. The nubs are secondary, though still negligent as they...

    Round 4. Fight! (2010-10-12)

If it doesn't cost us anything, great. When you say the "first mass production nubs" how many are we talking? Enough to send to Texas and finish up the 3000 boards? Enough for them to still be soldering on nubs (how long does that take?) by the time the rest of the remaining 6000 nubs...

I said the *last* set of nubs, e.g. these Nice try, though. :)
