    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

That's easy - you split up the work. It's a trial - you get both to do a couple thousand, and pick the one who was nicest, fastest, cheapest (hopefully not), or whatever your preference is. If one is really slow, you have the other company's work to tide you over, and start shipping, and know...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Then it would be 50 more, not 550 more. I interpreted it as 1500 past the original 900. Either way, it doesn't matter our going round-and-round. OPT needs to answer this one.

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Doubtful. I read "Next week we're building LCDs again for the next 550. Gads." to mean the LCD portions of the case, particularly since, as you say, there should have been 1500 LCD cables. But I could be wrong. Typical of this feed.

    Refurbished Pandoras on Ebay

So you're telling me that if I buy a Pandora to ship to the US, I won't pay 280 GBP, I'll pay 220 GBP? Can you confirm where in the process this gets removed? Because I only see a "Buy-it-Now" for 280 GBP, and this is on ebay.com, not ebay.co.uk. I'm potentially willing to try, but I want some...

    Refurbished Pandoras on Ebay

So is there a way for a non-UK/Europe buyer to pay the price without VAT? I'd be interested, but not for a refurbished unit that's 60 GBP more than I'd pay, otherwise.

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Not entirely. They were supposed to be sea, supposed to have shipped, and then it turned out they hadn't been sent (honest miscommunication). The last I heard; ED had promised they could show up in a few days, if we needed them here immediately, and sooner than the new board company needed them...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Back in days of the the first 900, when there was much strife with the nubs, there were many that arrived dead. There were a number of boards forged that had a single faulty nub. These were the 1-nubbers. (The amount was never released, but I suspect on the order of 100.) Craig offered these...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Haven't we learned anything from the past two years? "Should be available when we give a call" usually means there will be additional delays. Under what circumstances will you give the green light? How much advance notice needs to be given? I was under the impression that you were going to...

    About Replacement Styli

What's the status on these Styli? I'd definitely be interested in some. Do they have a price point yet? When will they be available? More to the point, does it seem likely that I'd be able to order one direct from OPT, and still have it arrive when my Pandora does, or is it more likely to go...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Huh?? I was always under the impression (read: you told us) that people from the beginning of Batch 2 would be bumped forward into Batch 1 as there were more cancellations. So doesn't that mean the 4000 are filled? Can you please verify: the remaining 1000 cases will be shipped from China to...

    "Pandora consoles banned from ebay"

Craig - did this get noticed because of the refurbished units you said you had? (http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php?showtopic=917&view=findpost&p=17834) Can you give us some details? Quality, what kind of warranty they'll have, how much you're going to list them for (auction or...

Post picks and first impressions of your shiny new Pandora here!

No, the 2 pounds came from me, after someone said it was almost as heavy as a netbook: I had trouble believing it was anywhere near that much (as you say - 330g), and asked for clarification.

Post picks and first impressions of your shiny new Pandora here!

Since when do people count *extra* batteries (first one, absolutely) as part of the base weight of a product? Not to mention the bubble wrap and *box*?? If you want to throw in the charger, fine; case, maybe. But then you have to compare to an equivalent - in this case a netbook, also with the...

Post picks and first impressions of your shiny new Pandora here!

It weighs about 2lbs (~ 1kg?)?? That's insane for a device this size. Or do you mean it's about as solid/dense as a netbook? e.g. Since it's, say, 1/4 the size of a netbook, it also weighs 1/4 the weight? Craigix - you now have a team of people helping to assemble the Pandoras, right? Do...

Stop me if you think you've heard this one before

Thanks for the update. Three questions: 1) Have you done any long-term tests on this? How does the travel/action fare when the foam pad starts to break down? Because, while I like the solution, it feels a little bit hacky, and short-term, as if it might not last too well. 2) Does that take...

    PCB production continues (2011-01-04)

How strange. If they've all packaged up in the same way, then how can it be "the most you've ever seen"? Agreed. Pics or it isn't true!

    PCB production continues (2011-01-04)

How odd. He says he's "[n]ever seen so many Pandora consoles in one place", but wouldn't that have happened during the first round of building? (When ED and MWeston were around.)

    People are watching us...

@Woorson Did you read their hands-on preview? http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/06/razer-switchblade-preview-3g-intel-oak-trail-almost-definitel/ They had a prototype, so it's definitely not just renders. But it's probably akin to one of the white Pandoras in a rough CNC case (very early on)...

Any chance of posting queue position...

Oh, so it should be really easy for ED, then. Sort all unshipped orders by date placed. The only ones that should be over a few weeks (month?) old and still haven't been sent are Pandoras (or, at least, I sincerely hope there aren't many others), so an accurate (and ordered) sequence of...

    PCB production continues (2011-01-04)

Disagree. There has been no change to the mould, but that was not my question. The first 1000 cases had painted buttons. Of those, many had hand-drilled holes. This next set are of the first with no button painting, in theory. I want to confirm this. Similarly, less painting on, say, the screen...
