    Instant Pandora with a premium?

How can they come out of batch 2, if they don't have enough parts for batch 1? Face facts. They're really coming out of batch 1, and you're getting pushed back. That wasn't the take-home message, at all. It was "the 7-dayers need to get made on extra time, after the week's quota of preorders...

    Instant Pandora with a premium?

Last I checked, the only significant difference between the original prototypes - other than being a prototype, of course - was the bump in RAM from 256 MB to 512 MB, which I understood was part of the bump in price from batch 1 to batch 2. I also got the sense that it was a fairly inexpensive...

    Instant Pandora with a premium?

Ok. So I know even as I start to write this, it's going to be another longish analysis. But I feel the need to get it out, and I still think it's important to consider. I read all the pages to the end, (Craig hadn't given a link yet), and then went away to mull it over and write. I come back...

    More boards, more software (2011 - 01 - 24)

Remember that those 1000 cancellations all happened over the course of, say, two years. They've essentially had preorders open the whole time, so it's been filling up again. At one point ED said he had a list of people waiting to get onto his queue. But yes, things like these new updates do make...

Say what?? Does not compute! *beep*

    More boards, more software (2011 - 01 - 24)

Well, yeah. But that's the confusing part. I agree on the first 1k, that was pretty straightforward. But I'm confused, because in an old posting: ED first says "All cases needed for the first batch + additional 1000 ones have been produced and painted already." The first batch was 4k, or...

How many were shipped before this month?

It was less to you, since you already knew, and more to the original poster, and anyone else reading the thread. I've yet to see information as comprehensive, and I'm happy to correct/update it, if necessary. For the latter, no, I do not recall having seen you say that's why you sent some...

    Brittle Nubs

Ahh, yes. The wonders of punctuation (and ambiguous grammar, in general). It can mean the difference between "I had to help my uncle, Jack, off his horse." and ... well ... the alternative. For more on ambiguous stuff, I recommend this site, and this book. Both are highly amusing reads...

This post/thread might be useful to read. Very appropriate.

    More boards, more software (2011 - 01 - 24)

So a bit of a preamble: This post started as a clarification/uncertainty, but while doing the research, my post grew out of my control a little. But I think it's interesting, so please bear with me. Hope it's useful, and I apologize in advance if some of my links are off. So I'd like to...

    Selling My Pandora

The price didn't go up, at least not by much. First batch was $330 (USD), now it's $350 (USD). On the other hand, we have some people willing to pay a lot more to get it now, rather than wait (supply and demand), so prices go up on ebay, which makes people think they can charge more here. For...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

What happened to prebuilding all the lids back when the cases arrived? If you could go faster if CC could build faster, then wouldn't that mean you could build up a surplus of lids while you're waiting for the next set of boards from CC? Then you'd be able to ship out after the boards arrive...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

That's assuming that CC can produce at 500/week (seems like they've only been doing about half that number), that the rest of the cases arrive on time (unlikely, if they'll be needed in 3 weeks), and don't require additional assembly time. The past couple of weeks also doesn't look like...

1000th yet.. or have i missed it?

I didn't think it was clear, and I still think so. Preorders opened "quite a while ago" (27.5 months). Pandoras first shipped "quite a while ago" (8 months). And so on. On a scale, where the most common length of time is "Two Months" (aka soon), two weeks is barely a blip.

1000th yet.. or have i missed it?

And by "Quite a while ago", you really mean "in the past couple of weeks", right?

Yeah, I've been curious about that, too.

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

Firstly, ED. Thank you for the reply. I (and others) greatly appreciate it when you spend the time to do so. You should push them harder. It sounded like you were trying, and were going to talk to the CEO. In particular, he was claiming you were spreading untruths about his company, and you...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

@foxblock - Thanks. I appreciate your support. I'll admit there's sometimes hostility in my tone, but it's because I'm tired of being dismissed, especially by OPT when they refuse to acknowlege things. I can't think of how many times someone said "What about XXX? Might be a problem soon", OPT...

    Selling My Pandora

Usually when people say "On the 14th", they mean "sometime on the 14th" - and often a time is included. If a time isn't specified, they tend to mean "at the end of the 14th" e.g. "I'll give you all the way through the 14th". Of course, multiple timezones complicate matters - is the end of the...

    All the nubs are there! (2011 - 01 - 11)

It's just you. I definitely have a preorder (and no, I'm not telling you my number). I understand how supply-and-demand works, and agree that money is everything. I understand that companies think they can jerk OPT around, because they don't have a lot of money, and can't defend themselves...
