    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

@Exophase: Thanks for your most recent explanation. (supplement!) Now it's clear how DraStic's ROM discovery works! No more questions. (You could just copy&paste it into your FAQ, worthy info) And I agree with _wb_: An index file near the ROMs is a proper way for storage.

    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

My question was: How and when is drastic_file_info.txt considered(read) / updated(written to) ? That was clear to me, but thanks for confirming. So DraStic can display a game list to the user immediately, but in case the dir content changed, this list gets updated (in the background). If the...

    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

Added DraStic to the list of Nintendo DS emulators at Wikipedia. Inform me, should you want it removed from WP. I expect some more traffic coming in via WP.

    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

I propose this: Name them .drastic_file_info.txt (to not annoy in a GUI filebrowser's default view) and unlink them if empty (to not scatter, which would be a really bad manner). Question: How does DraStic determine wether drastic_file_info.txt is up-to-date and therefore if needed...

    Release DraStic Nintendo DS emulator

Bugreport: Drastic scatters empty files named drastic_file_info.txt all over my SD card along the filepath it moves for selecting your roms I had just downloaded and used the newest DraStic 1.4.0.0 (info dialogue 1.4p), never hacked any file or setting, but nevertheless got...

    Time and Date drifting

@WizardStan: You were right! The RTC seems to not tick while the Pandora is off! My observed offset was the TimeWithoutBattery + 3-4 minutes, which can be accounted to shutdown (before the pause), and after the pause: booting and start taking notes. Updated my post with the false suspicion...

    Release Pandora System Info

Feature suggestion: At startup the status line shall be shown for the default timeout length (4s) Currently the status line "Logging <off|enabled>. Interval: <N>s" is only shown merely a second, too short to re-assure oneself.

My satisfaction with the Pandora after owning it for 2 years now

    1) Cleaned my battery contacts with isopropyl alcohol yesterday. 2) Tested this today, and I can says: Something is NOT ok with my charging chips! # Getting my reading 10:16, sysinfo 1576mAh, xfce-status-bar 40% # Shutting down. Taking out my battery. 13:29 # Rebooting, did not read battery...

My satisfaction with the Pandora after owning it for 2 years now

    1) TWL I2C command: Writing to one specific register in order for another register to become writeable! Clever protection system! I love the Pandora community just for learnings like this one. One really gets an understanding of low level operations. 2) Precautions with low treshold: Ok, now...

    Time and Date drifting

Time drift tests on my Rebirth Pandora I tried all different scenarios: under cpu stress, in normal operation (idle), low power mode, standby and off without battery (in previous test & post); but could not reproduce the dramatic time drifts (many minutes over only a few days) I had...

    Release Pandafe 0.2.2

@nuhrin: Am already very curious on the Pandafe changes! Will there be a new release in the near future? Or are some more changes planned before releasing? If I would compile from the git source as-is with Vala, would I get a complete stable PND? And would this PND automatically get the...

My satisfaction with the Pandora after owning it for 2 years now

Dear WizardStan! Thanks for your instructions. By the nature of the issue — full dis/re-charging takes time — my tests will take some days, but then I'll report back. Will try that. "Watching it careful" contradicts the idea of testing positively for "unattended charging"! Is it really that...

    Time and Date drifting

RTC clock works without battery It seems the Pandora has a backup battery, possibly in the form of a capacitor. I had the battery out of my Pandora for ~4 hours. After rebooting the software clock still showed the correct date, and the minutes and seconds also nearly matched the actual time...

    Time and Date drifting

@ptitSeb: To share experiences: I observed time drifts with all 3 Pandoras I had since 2011-05, and on every OS (currently SuperZaxxon 1.54) so far. After using it for 2-3 days, with some sleep time inbetween, you quickly get an offset of 30 minutes or more. Dunno if an offset also accumulates...

USB OTG port does not appear to be working.

@frefol: So both Mini-A and Mini-B work. This fits to the description in the wiki: For better clarity the legend within the photo should better read "Mini-A or Mini-B" instead of "miniAB" (which is confusing). I would buy this one (3.9 EUR + free shipping).   Ok?

USB OTG port does not appear to be working.

Guy, thanks for your info! If I would myself solder the adapter in the fashion, that pin 4 is connected to ground, it would work then?

WiFi mysteries resolved once and for all — Power saving is clearly the culprit!

@F_Slim: I am far beyond that point (if interested: see this whole thread and the massive amount of my already performed tests and falsifications). @Binky: Testing in an isolated WiFi environment, as mentioned earlier in this thread, is one of my last outstanding tests. Nevertheless, even if it...

USB OTG port does not appear to be working.

I attempted a connection between a USB 1.1 device and the USB OTG port through a rather unconventional connection of cables and adapters… Pandora <— USB OTG port <— Mini-B to Standard-A cable  <— Female-A to Female-A adapter (HongKong Amazon dealer) <— USB 1.1 device (simple mouse) Don't know...

Please allow 1 + 2 character search strings in the forum search

3 letter search term falsely displays "No results" although there ARE results! Today I used the forum search, to search for "USB", and the forum software told me: "No results found for 'usb'." There must be a mis-configuration or bug, as this is obviously not true, as the term USB comes up...

My satisfaction with the Pandora after owning it for 2 years now

    1) Booting the Pandora without a battery just connected to the original OpenPandora charger (5V @ 2000mA) had no positive influence on WiFi (my report here). Before going into cleaning the battery contacts with isopropyl alcohol, I did these further test: 2) Charging via USB charger (Asus...
