    No more Unity for Ubuntu

I never got the logic of distro hopping just because you don't like a DE. It can be changed with a couple lines in Terminal, no?

    Linux Installation Shenanigans

I've given up on the possibility of Linux for that computer. But my tablet rocks with Ubuntu Studio 16,10. I run Crossover to play most windows games (and have to redo .Net or whatever borks during install). Though 20 of GoG library support Linux. Running Ubuntu Studio on it and my other...

Asus Is Trying To Compete With Raspberry Pi

https://www.kitguru.net/desktop-pc/matthew-wilson/asus-wants-to-take-on-the-raspberry-pi-with-new-tinker-board/ What's interesting: Too bad ReNoise doesn't exists on this platform. I wonder if they'd port their software if they knew there were more than two people interested in a proper...

It's Happening - μSDXC Cards At The Speed Of SSD's

ADATA Demonstrates 256 GB microSDXC Card - AnandTech Bigger too! 3D NAND -> 256GB (R: 275MB/s W: 260MB/s) Perhaps we'll also see 1-2TB regular size SDXC cards in our lifetime.

    Linux Installation Shenanigans

On initial install, GPU/driver info looks like this (3 commands to make sure all info is there lol) $ sudo lshw -numeric -C display *-display description: VGA compatible controller product: Venus XTX [Radeon HD 8890M / R9 M275X/M375X] [1002:6820] vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc...

    Linux Installation Shenanigans

TL;DR: Ubuntu 16.10 (any variant) cleanly installs and works fine OOB. After update, weird graphical glitches render it unusable. I've installed Linux Ubuntu Mint and Ubuntu Studio 16.10 on two separate computers, but one has an ongoing issue. I quite like the Mint edition over Studio (the...

    Back from the Dead!

Ubuntu Mate copied at USB 2.0 speeds: At 3.0 speeds: Random Windows Image over USB 3.0: Granted, this is using Windows and I have little doubt on actual speed, considering I couldn't hit PrtSc fast enough to capture these while doing 3.0 transfers of +1.3GB each. This was performed on a...

Does Anything Like The iCP2 Exist?

Yes, looking for a iCP2-esque device, ideally. Found a Moga pad but it looks to use low quality rubber and the d-pad/abxy buttons are cringeworthy. Eventually going to upgrade from a MotoG3 (this model has 1GB RAM and Android takes up too much of it) to something similar in size but much...

Does Anything Like The iCP2 Exist?

There are a few decent wireless gaming pads just as there are wireless keyboards - but something that's got me wondering recently - is there anything out there these days that's a balanced mix of both, like the device of old was?

    Update SuperZaxxon v1.75

Battery: I've also witnessed excellent battery life in standby/lid closed. Tried to guage how long it'd last like that -- initially I had noticed because the LED was still on after a couple (maybe 3) days and only about 2% drain on the battery after (nothing running, mind you). Prior to this...

What will a Pyra be able to do that the OpenPandora can't do now?

Output >720p over HDMI vs. 480i/576i S-Video -- having a full desktop while docked where it would otherwise be difficult on the traditional TV-out. HDMI isn't going anywhere soon (obsolescence), so it has that over the Pandora.

EXT4 - How To Disable Journaling?

Had to fix it using gparted and mkfs so it kinda worked out anyway (partition was somehow mucked up so reformatted).. No tune2fs needed. Don't think anything else is needed - not going to bother mucking around with fstab entries since it seems to be working fine now.

EXT4 - How To Disable Journaling?

I cannot figure out how to disable journaling on /dev/mmcblk0p1 (it's already a formatted EXT4 part). /dev/mmcblk0p2 is linux-swap. The appropriate R/W permissions exists for PNDs and sorts but what needs to be done is the appropriate optimizations so the card isn't killed by the filesystem...

    The Pandora Port Request Thread

VLC 2.2.4 Just throwing this suggestion in for the heck of it (link is source).

    Update SuperZaxxon v1.75

1.71 -> 1.75 using built-in "Upgrade Pandora OS" caused issues with it. It crashed after running Super Geometry Dust (with the last frame of the game being displayed in the system menu), eventually it would just lockup system. Then: rebooted, and it wouldn't get past 95% progress on bootup...

[Feeler] Selling 1Ghz Pandora As Bundle

Sorry for an non-conformant thread! I'm going to move away from this idea for now, since the idea cannot be justified easily at this time. The software is awesome, easy to use and I've only had to actually use Terminal - literally one one time I had to get the SDXC card working, since...

Pandora Mega Download For All Pandora Software?

Rather than visit the repo/UI to download items individually since it's slow (and have a tendancy to delete programs/etc. sometimes), does such thing as a community maintained torrent exist for a "Mega Library" of sorts for all of Pandora's software to date?

DRM wars (Steam, Origin, Starforce, Battle.net, installation limits, etc...)

I actively refuse to use any sort of audio/video software that either requires a dongle or always-on nanny software. Such things are only a hindrance to honest folks whose workstations could better use those resources for an extra MIDI controller or CPU cycles.

    Sourcing Console Audio (BIOS/system sounds)

Thanks! Those samples are very short noise but can definitely be used or modified. Google didn't seem to want to point in the correct search orientation, however, it did eventually point to more startup sounds. There are some sounds on Soundcloud that are available -- and I've personally only...

    Sourcing Console Audio (BIOS/system sounds)

Yes, this is correct. The plan is to remix them into something a little different; there's a certain flow in the noises that would fair well in a mix.
