    It's the speed that counts.

Ah yes, you're right about that. Probably just standard glow in the dark stuff then.

Old watch hands were originally radium based if I remember correctly.

    THE NUMBERS IMAGE THREAD!

^^ that device right there could be very handy. Most analogue industrial controls use a 4-20mA control signal. That thing takes a 0-5V signal and outputs a proportional 4-20mA signal. If you ever want to hook something like an arduino to an industrial thing, that would be the quickest way to do so.

so... you won't be using your Pyra for emulation now will you?

This always comes up every few years. Yes, technically you have to dump the cartridge yourself in order to make it technically legal. But most people aren't going to.

Can someone render one of my Blender videos for me?

why not use a dedicated video encoder? Blender is a bit heavy to use as just a video converter

    Back from Greece

I really like the idea of brushed stainless steel. it's a lot harder (and therefore more scratch resistant) than aluminum. Plus, with heat bluing, I could make it a different color. I'm thinking black case with blue steel would be nice, or maybe even black with red copper..... Please tell me...

    Something has gone wrong.

Anodizing actually has a function besides colouring the metal. It builds up a thicker oxide layer to resist scratches and such. You don't actually have to dye it. I would be willing to bet that was what was supposed to happen (as I can't imagine ED picking a color besides plain silver for the...

    USB-C

Being able to plug it in upside down doesn't require an extra IC, USB C simply has duplicates of each pin. One set of signals is on each side of the plug.

    Moving along

If they allow you to, take pictures of the piece that goes in between the PCB and the chip. It sound like a neat device.

An update of the waiting game

You're not the only one who didn't get your pandora. Demanding source files before they're ready is just obnoxious and unhelpful, but by all means, constructive input is welcome. (also, I can now call you a jerk if I so choose, you gave me permission ;) )

Pyra Prototype Videos - Askarus Edition

So, instead of putting a filter on the output of the backlight driver, we'd be putting the filter on the output of the CPU and thus providing an analog voltage to the input of the driver? If that's the case, a low pass filter shouldn't be too hard since it doesn't have to handle much current...

    What have you bought recently?

That PS2 multitap kinda reminds me of a PS2 TOOL.

    What have you bought recently?

The 'don't care' button is my favourite. I have no idea what it does though....

    Absurdism corner

I would very much consider southern english to be a different language, especially when you're in a really small town like Highland Home.

    Important color changes

I always just made sure I was faster than them. (granted, I never bothered to put things in bags though)

ALDI was probably my favourite store when I lived in Alabama. They always had amazing produce.

    Absurdism corner

Here's one. My grandmother is paying $40 for blazingly fast 256kb/s internet. And on her bill, it's considered "high speed"

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

I like Christmas (granted, I am a religious person), I like the getting together of family and friends, plus it's a good excuse to make neat things for the people I care about. I guess you could do that anytime really, but I like Christmas regardless :D

Need help finding an electronic component

If you're wanting a load cell that uses a more industrial interface, you're probably not going to find anything inexpensive. But there are two industrial standards I can think of that you could use if once you figure out how to interface with a load cell. The first is a constant current output...
