Alas I wish Europe really was that united... I too think we'd all be better off from a few weeks off from thinking about keyboards... Maybe it might allow people time to take on board other peoples ideas and allow a melding of all the best ideas.

The French - refers to the race of people living in France... Yeah - quite ingrained with you isn't it regarding the layout left or right oriented - The majority of people are right handed ("Studies suggest that 70–90%" according to wikipedia) so holding modifiers with the left thumb and...

In English the idiom is  polishing a t..... right I see what you did there! Just to reiterate I too think that slavishly following a previous design is unnecessarily restrictive, while the Pandora wasn't a terrible design (far from it) I've already seen better layouts on this thread...

Here's a small quote from ED's latest post The keys will be flat, the printing will be on the inside of the cap, so it can not rub off. So does that mean after switching off the silly keymap light I'll be able to put my own labels between mat and caps? ...let's hope!

Should a hardware display layer be reserved for the OS?

Should a hardware display layer be reserved for the OS?

So? Thats just not even an issue, to an Xorg it just looks like a keyboard... Its not diverting anything it *is* the input, no reason why it can't *be* the touchscreen driver... it needn't be complex - its an input driver with a *very* simple graphical menu.... It need not hook anything and...
