Has ED confirmed that the Pyra will have 2GB of Ram? As far as I'm aware we're still awaiting the cost & battery implications of 2GB & 4GB
If the cost & battery implications for 4GB are not severe I think it would be a no brainer to go for 4GB, a couple of good reasons being that the Pyra is...
What's your motherboard make & model?
Had a similar problem with boot drives disappearing from bios with an ASUS board, fixed it by disabling secure boot & then changing some other stuff in the BIOS (can't really remember what sorry but it was all under the advanced boot menu options).
Welcome to free market capitalism...
What do you think the global market is, in terms of number of people who would buy a Pyra/GPD Win type device if it was available off the shelf having received decent reviews & coverage?
They have 827 backers so far after a month.
How does that figure...
Clicking contact us via the link bar leads to a blank page
It also strikes me as rather odd that that there is no prominent link to Dragonbox shop, is that hidden away somewhere or is it just so obvious I've missed it?
Is it time to start putting a why buy a Pyra FAQ together as per this post?
The other huge 'Elephant in the room' along with the cost is the SOC. If I was a potential customer who had not followed the Pyra project closely I'd be thinking why buy a Pyra if the GPD Win is half the price and has...
Is that because you've already got one?
There is some justification in this context as Go is seen as the most difficult of board games for an AI to beat an expert human player, still think I'd be in with a chance for snakes & ladders though. ;)
The next holy grail for AI should be cards...
Interesting, got a link for that?
From this review the picture was a little different :
FWIW I've got a tablet running a z8300 and that gets at most pleasantly warm after a couple of hours heavy CPU usage.
Guess we'll never know until it happens, I was just about to post that playable PS2 for any commercial game would be impossible on Pyra, then someone who actually knows what they are talking about (Notaz) suggests it would indeed be possible...
FWIW I'd have said it was impossible to get...
I'm pretty sure that anyone who believes that Emulation=Piracy is not really the target market for Pyra. I'm not saying it should be sold as the ultimate emulation device as per the Pandora but the ability to emulate older systems, even those with keyboards, is undoubtedly one of the many strong...
Same here, just to be clear I was not talking about something like this :
More something like a slightly geekier version of this:
rather than something like this ;)
I thought it, you said it ;)
Had a quick look at Indiegogo and in their reply to you they said 'we can only change into the DeenOx's scheme' my Googlefu seems to have deserted me, do you have a link as to what this design might look like?
Hoping to hear soon from ED what the cost implications will be for various sizes of Ram & eMMC

I think the plan is to sell Pyra from stock via Dragonbox (& other distributors?) after the first batch has been funded, however the KS for x86 board development...
There is a strong possibility that some potential customers/journalists would make that mistake whether the crowd funding is done in house or using Kickstarter, that's why ED should put together an FAQ that clears up this sort of misunderstanding. A brief overview of how ED handled the Pandora...
