    SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

That's funny, most of the reviews I read said the music was the main redeeming quality of the game! :D

It's only really visible in certain conditions. Easiest way to see it is look at a completely black screen, with screen brightness turned down, in a room with the lights off. You'll likely never see it in other situations.

This is a pretty common issue that nearly all OLED screens exhibit, called mura (a term which actually refers to a few different issues, including the one you described). Nothing to worry about. :) That said, some are worse than others. If yours is particularly bad you might want to...

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, sure, it sucks for the user, and feels like they are getting nickel-and-dimed. On the other hand, those servers running the online services aren't free. If having everyone who buys the game used contribute to keeping the online services alive...

I'm pretty sure you can buy an online pass for it through the PSN store. I believe it's $10 to do so, and if you're going to lose that much trading it in anyway.... ;)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts - I definitely want to play this at some point. :) I've been playing Unit 13 - I'm pleasantly surprised by it. Good, solid gameplay broken into standalone missions, which is perfect for a portable device. Definitely worth checking out. :)

Yup, this is probably what I'd wind up doing. :)

Well I'm not just referring to the PSP. Historically, to use online features (whether it be the PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 or PSP) such as an online store, some multiplayer features, etc, you have to be on the latest version of that system's software. This usually means giving up any hack that you...

For the first time, I'm actually *not* planning on hacking mine at all, simply so I can use all the online features. They've really done a stellar job with all of that, in my opinion (PSN store with ALL Vita games on it, cross-game voice chat, etc). :) One of the only things that that...

What's your PSN name? We might have to get a little rivalry going... ;)

    SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

Yup, same here. Lots of games on my iPhone/iPad, but not many of them can suck me in for more than a few minutes at a time. The Vita has gotten FAR more playtime than even my 3DS that I sold to get the Vita, which I owned for 6 months or more. :) Edit: Also, Motorstorm RC is really fun -...

Ah you're right, Super Stardust was probably a bad example. :D Even so, while I feel my version controls well for an iOS game, it's definitely much better using the iCP or the Joypad app as a controller. Katamari started out on the PS2 (and has had two horrible iOS releases), Wipeout has...

Hm, I have to say I disagree with this almost completely. Escape Plan does seem smartphone-ish (almost like it was intended to be a smartphone game in the first place or something), but most every other game I've played has seemed very much like a console experience, which is why I like the...

    SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

I almost wonder if developers don't feel a lot of pressure from Sony to use all the features in SOME capacity. We've seen this with other companies in the past, too: Nintendo with the touch screen on DS, or motion controls on Wii. Microsoft is starting to do it with the Kinect (though...

    SONY PlayStation Vita (PS Vita)

It's hit and miss so far (sometimes literally, since you can't see where your fingers are!). The games that make better use of it seem to use it in a more gesture-based way. For example, in the Unit 13 demo, you can swipe left or right to change which shoulder the camera hovers above. The ones...

Glad you're liking Wipeout and SSD. :) I've been playing Hustle Kings with a friend of mine online, it's pretty fun! Lots of multiplayer options (you can do both real-time and asynchronous). I decided to grab it, since I'll be getting Motorstorm RC for free. :D

Saw this this morning - way cool! I was planning on buying this anyway. :) The offer only gives you the vita version, where originally if you bought the vita version, you'd get the PS3 version for free. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have played it much (if at all) on the PS3 anyway. :)

You won't be disappointed with Wipeout - it's awesome. :) You should also check out Super Stardust Delta - probably the best value so far since it's only $10.

So now that everyone's had their Vita's for a week or two, what all games did everyone end up with? Might be fun if we matched up to play games like wipeout and stuff. :) I've got: Super Stardust Delta Mutant Blobs Attack Wipeout 2048 Rayman origins Touch My Katamari And my friend...
