I tried mencoder in SZ and it worked but most times I use Slackware and it seems there is no mencoder. In SZ codecs are installed but camcoder got the same error when trying to record from webcam.
I used dumpstream but it didn't work. There is also dumpvideo option and something is saved but gives black video and big file. Maybe I miss some options.
@ekianjo : UM player is working fine - see above
tried without font in ini file and also with ini file from SMPlayer with the same result so I guess its another problem not the font setting
edit:
I tried to install mencoder for webcam recording (works in SZ) but couldn't find it. Is there no...
There is a player called ROSA media player (GUI for mplayer) that has some nice features like desktop recording, video editing etc. but it is not working (not playing any audio/ video). Maybe someone can get it to work. Install with sbopkg.
Here is the error: (exit code 1)
/usr/bin/mplayer...
Guvcview is working so far but gets only 9fps at 1.2 Ghz.
Mplayer is told to work for recording but how ? To view just use mplayer tv://
The error in camcoder is : could not start mencoder
.outfile

After trying to find elsewhere and not finding here it goes.
Is there an easy soft for recording with the webcam (how). So far it works with ffmpeg but I would like mplayer or something to watch and record at the same time like Kaffeine. I can get pics with camcoder but get error when trying to...
So far my QUMOX card is full to about 42GB and all working fine as Slackware OS ext2. I checked the read speed as mentioned in the wiki and got 19.7 MB/s which is better than all what is shown (best was 19.6). So I am happy with it. What happened with the 256GB cards - still working?
Another good one : After setting deinterlace to none Kaffeine is now fast enough for DVB-T at 1.2 GHz. It has also EPG and record mode. Very fine.
So thanks again to Linux SWAT for this nice OS port.
This was just for trying other software if there is a better way (more functions, less cpu usage etc.) for multimedia. And so I wanted to give the info to others.
Good news : after changing deinterlace settings I got the same result as in SMPlayer and all is fine now.
I tried to install some packages via sbopkg which were not accessible in GSlapt. UMPlayer is working so far but needs lots of resources. It is like SMPlayer with some differencies.
UMPlayer having shoutcast via menu also youtube. Youtube videos will not play (also with SMPlayer). Internet radio...
So far the card is filled to 36GB and I copied a video with ~ 400MB which is playing very nicely. So I guess it's ok. Other cards like Intenso or Kingston are at about 24 €. The card is cheap but no fake card like 512GB for 15€. If 36GB are ok it should be 64GB - or not ?
First the good one. I bought Qumox 64GB class 10 card on ebay about 17 € and is now working as Slackware OS very well. Maybe someone can put this in the wiki.
The bad is for the huge fake cards / sticks eg. card with 512GB or 2TB stick.
read here (sorry, german)...
The card is Extreme class 10 telling 45MB/s and is working now I guess about 2yrs. First FAT for the pandora pnds and data and then with Slackware. I looked in the directory and found some files. But the question is : must I install this again or can I copy them somehow to the new card ? Some...
Maybe your right, because my old card (SanDisk 32GB) is no longer booting. It also had the problem of copying large files from one card to the other which is now working with the new card. So I use now my new one (64 GB)with fresh installed Slackware. I would like to "copy" the installed...
Because dd was not working I installed the latest version and its working. What I got a problem was the language setting. I did export LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 but got no german menus. Did I something wrong? Last version worked with this setting.
As the rest seems ok, how can I get the installed...
