    Hello, Just Joined The Community

Debian has a lot of options to install packages. The had way is to compile them yourself, the easier one is to use dpkg. Then there is apt zhat is kind of a database and frontend for dpkg and aptitude is a frontend for apt. So many options in linux. Gotta love it.

The apps folder will make them appear on the desktop AND in the menu. If you only want them in the menu, place them in a folder /pandora/menu instead.

As with computer programs, there is no uniform way to close applications. Most of the time, Esc, Q, or Pandorabutton should work. Also there are documentation entries in the menu for most apps. You can read them to get the basics.

Hello Just got my hands on my first Pandora. Love it

Pull out the battery and leave it out for about 10 minutes. Then try again. Strangely there are some reports about such problems recently. Hope this is not a new hardwarefault. Can you get to the bootmenu again or is it just dead when flicking the powerswitch?

    Transformer consoles

Judged by the size of the connectors this could already fit. Need to get one for a project anyway and will see how good you can work with it. Unfortunately 256 MB Ram only.

You would have to use commandlinetools to change the label of the card. Or you rename it in Windows. Another way could be to use the gparted pnd, but be careful what you do with this tool as it also can erase and create partitions on your drive.

What would you like to see?

Yeah. Qemu booting up Win98 and starting HalfLife in Software mode would be neat.

    Transformer consoles

Wonder if a stripped down Raspberry Pi could be hacked in. At least for Megadrive emulation.

Also you need to install the codec pack for ntfs/exfat support. Best is to format your stick to fat32.

Hello and welcome. Hope Yoshis pack is still recent. I would suggest to go to repo.openpandora.org for the newest software. Also install PNDManager.

Bricked Pandora (won't even power on)

Yes, it would be possible to power it with a benchsupply. There are pads for that on the side of the board. But please read twice what voltage to apply to them. There is the hackers manual on the wiki describing most of the inzernal pins and headers. Edit...

Let's think about a killer game...

FPS and Racing? Yes, that turned out well with Rage... Even when Millions of Dollars are pumped into something it is not guaranteed to become a superior game.

Let's think about a killer game...

I still think the killerapp for the Pandora is Drastic, the NDS emu. Also there are a lot of things that were never done before, started on our device. Like portable Daphne emulator, conversions of Games like Rtcw, Jedi Knight 2+3 and the Kenta Cho games. People will always do what they feel...

    Cook like a champ

I really like cooking and do it every day as my wife comes home late. I don't eat pork anymore, but not because of religious reasons. I don't really have a favorite meal but rather try to use up stuff that is already there. Most of the time this results in some rice, noodles, potatoes with...

    Help with an error message

Do you compile in code::blocks pnd? The very recent compiler in it sometimes doesn't like old coding conventions. Have you tried sebt3's toolchain and how old is this version? Does it compile properly on recent Desktop Linux...

    C4A support for GINGE ?

If you need ginge you probably don't have source for the games. If you do, use the native Pandora version to add c4a. If you don't and the game encrypts its savefiles, no easy way. Do you have some games in mind?

    Purple Screen

You can get replacement lcd cables from dragonbox.de. or you can send in your unit. But open a support ticket first and ask about a quote as you got it secondhand.
