I agree, but you'll always have this problem when you have low volume open-source hardware compared to high volume commercial products. Especially for a niche product. It would have been nice if open-source products would be cheaper so most people would also have a monetary incentive to purchase...

    E-ink Screen

I think people are used to reading a book which has two visible pages. There is no need for 2 screens as you can show the full book on a single screen, so we usually get 1 screen e-readers. And you can close the e-reader so the screens are protected. With the ESP32 you could probably run some...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Well, it's a real concern. But cheaper handhelds existed when the Pandora was introduced and the same for the Pyra. The unique part of both is still the small sized open-source handheld featuring the keyboard part, like a mini-laptop, but also featuring gaming controls. For sure the snail-paced...

If you have a cheap breadboard it might be causing problems as they might not connect to the pins of your components, so you wonder if you need to purchase the real $10 ones instead. Or, you purchase this one instead: https://www.crowdsupply.com/architeuthis-flux/jumperless-v5 It's a bit more...

Should I get a GP32 in 2023, and what programs do you recommend for me to try on it?

You can check if you have set the output sample rate to 22050Hz. If you have 44Hz it might mess it up.

Merry Christmas MongoDB maintainers  Santa brought you Mongobleed so you have to patch all your instances: https://github.com/joe-desimone/mongobleed CVE-2025-14847 - MongoDB Unauthenticated Memory Leak Exploit Luckily my instances aren't customer facing ones but obviously they'll still...

Depends on your interpretation I guess. I think they did it for size comparison, but you could also see it as "you need a separate notebook to makes notes". But I agree it might imply it replaces the notebook.

If you like to have 2 screens, because more is better probably, there is an e-reader for that to: https://www.crowdsupply.com/diptyx/diptyx-e-reader The resolution isn't the best and I don't know if it's fully open-source, but it exists and that's good.

Apparently before Ricky Gervais became a comedian, in 1983, he was under the impression being like David Bowie would be cool and for a short while he was known as the voice of a short lived top 100 band.

If you do any projects using ESP32 and you don't like the C3 due to it's horrifically bad WIFI range: add a homebrew antenna and your range is increased by a lot. These ESP32 C3 are around 1~3 euro's depending on the model you select. I think auto-completing your folder and files names by...
