Maybe you can reconfigure keys in the mapper to achieve something like that. By default pressing ctrl+f1 to get the mapper does not work. See this thread for a further explanation and a workaround: http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php/topic/11185-joystick-buttons-eg-in-dosbox/#entry208907
After trying to understand what's going on in client.c for hours, I decided to ask in a tomenet-channel on irc. And someone helped me after a very few minutes. That was a great help on the one side, but on the other hand a bit frustrating regarding my long lasting efforts before. :)
Anyway...
hm...
Should be doable with
http://repo.openpandora.org/?page=detail&app=audacity
You should be able to generate a tone of a certain frequency with that.
Further note: You can configure shortkeys for setting-changes as well with the "m"-key while being in the menu:
As an example for quickly changing the dpad-configuration:
- press "start" to get to the menu
- go to "Machine settings"->"Joystick Settings"->"Joystick device in port 2"
- move to...
Something basic about the cursor-keys: In Vice the dpad is AFAIK by default configured as joystick, not as cursor-keys. At least in my configuration it's configured like that. I can't recall if I set that up myself. In any way: If a game needs the cursor-keys, then you have to go to the settings...
That are some strange issues altogether.
I just tried "Commando" and in runs fullscreen (except for the tiny black bars that Pickle mentioned) without scrolling issues.
I tried to switch video-filters in xfce at Start->Settings->LCD-Settings and also tried if the issue occurs from minimenu...
No. The only thing I noticed was that I get segfaults on my GentooPC too when running the ncurses-version ("./tomenet -c").
Running the X11-version (without "-c") does not segfault. But I didn't manage to get that running on the Pandora. Might not even be a good idea doing so on the Pandora as...

Second time I write this. Lost my first text. So I will do it in short-form.
- workaround for "*" -> select virtual keyboard, move to "*", press "m" to start remapping and choose a key to map to. Though it's a hard choice were you want to map it too, because modifiers like shift or Fn are not...
Maybe not your philosophy, but if you want to, then you can modify the time you are granted per section and the amount of cars that are coming in your way in the config-files located in the appdata-folder.
I wonder how close the default difficulty is to original arcade once. Though that could...
Ah. "Union Overlay" is the name of that software-mechanism. Hence the name "umnt".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UnionFS
Edit: Little correction of myself: I think on the Pandora "aufs" is used, which is also mentioned in the above link. At least "mount" shows "aufs" when you execute it while a...
ptitSeb: That's not completely right.
A PND itself is read-only. That's true. But it's loop-mounted with an overlay (unfortunately I can't recall the name of that mechanism right now) so any changes you do to the mounted-pnd will be saved to the appdata-folder. So as far as I can tell what...
I'm not 100% sure, but I expect that behavior. Would be quite a flaw in the system otherwise. I took a look at the tvbrowser.pnd, which comes with such a zenity-menu for setting the frequency due to using "<clockspeed frequency="900"/>". You could try to set it to "600" in a test with...
Tested it. Works nice for me. Thanks a lot.
First I thought "What no cars? Do i need to modify the config? hm, and steering through curves is pretty easy.... and why the hell did i ran out of time before making it to the next section although I never used the brakes??". But a short while later...
You didn't sound cranky to me. ;)
And regarding the opl2-soundfonts: To be honest I'd favor an improved emulation. (well or course) :P
Unfortunately I am lacking experience in chocolate-doom and dosbox to compare them, but I wonder if dosbox-adlib-emulation is better and if the source-code...
Need to make another change to the above instructions. Explanation:
- First I tried it with setting nubs manually to joystick-mode with then Pandora-nub-configurator
- then i tried it again and the nub worked too.
- then i noticed strange behavior while flying. After a while I was not able to...
while trying things out you might find it less annoying to set up the game you are trying out to appear in the dosbox-ex-menu, by following the instruction at the repo: move it to the dosbox-rom-folder and renaming the exe to "01.exe". Then you can start it quickly from the menu.
I tried this out a little yesterday. Pickles port crashed for me too. This was not a game-issue but already happened before starting the game (and pressing a joystick-button i configured). So instead I tried DosBoxEx v8. This already comes up with a selection between touchscreen and nubs. In...
