News from the meeting at GC

Okay, lets say If it was scheduled for 2015... or Aimed for 2015 release... Anyway, We are all aware about the the manpower behind the Pyra since the beginning, there is no need to remind this every single time :) Cheers.

News from the meeting at GC

In fact, If the Pyra was released back in 2015 as scheduled, the sales figures at the moment should be around 7000-8000 sold units, with new CPU board and accessories already in development. At this point It will be pretty difficult to sell a dual core A15 equipped device, in the middle of...

    Back from the Dead!

According to this guys: https://www.linux.com/learn/benchmarking-performance-tis-omap5432-board OMAP5432 EVM is capable to achieve over 130 Megabytes/s on seek and read through the SATA, Which is around 1Gbit per second. But I think they hit the maximum limit of the SSD used for this test.

    Back from the Dead!

Well unfortunately the OMAP 5432 supports SATA 2 only, not SATA 3, Which is even more sad. This makes the file transfer through the 3.0 OTG port the fastest option at least on paper. SATA2 - up to 3Gb/s USB 3.0 - up to 5Gb/s It will be nice if someone with EVM test the "real life" speeds.

    Back from the Dead!

"It CAN, sure with adapters... but it's not SATA nor does it have the speed of SATA." Trashy, No adapters are needed dude, Only a cable with male micro USB 3.0 is needed and the 2.5 inch HDD enclosure will work fine, on 3.0 speeds with the 3.0 OTG Port of the Pyra. USB 3.0 - up to 5Gbits SATA...

    Back from the Dead!

From the Pyra frontpage: "It features one USB 3.0 OTG port" So can I use the USB OTG port to connect my 2.5 inch hdd case or not ?

    Back from the Dead!

Basically, what this adapter is gonna do, is the same as every 2.5 inch HDD case already do... Could you Please provide me a link to a small USB camera with LED or Xenon flash ? Or a docking station/port replicator that can replicate all the Pyra ports including the one for the external power ?

    Back from the Dead!

Happy New Year! The JTAG is Good, But OMFG! What is the point to develop such adapter when there are tons of cheap HDD Cases/Enclosures for 2.5 inch drives ? In terms of accessory Please! focus on something useful, like small USB camera with flash, or a docking station/port replicator of...

At least quote me correctly, the last sentence was in regards of Neo900. Anyway, I hope the upcoming CPU board revision, to finally resolve all the issues with the Pyra.

    Pyra christmas update :)

I am sorry but in terms of progress this "Christmas update" is very similar to the one from Dec 30, 2015 https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/a-final-pyra-newspost.76784/ Do not get me wrong, more than everything I want Pyra to be finished, But come on! Sometimes I wonder if the fu*king...

Which is the fastest SD card for Pyra?

The Pyra supports UHS 1 - 104 MByte/s (SDR104) Which means Samsung Pro series with speeds: Read 90MB/s,Write 80MB/s will be the ideal sweet spot. They will become more cheap and accessible, and they have 10 years of warranty.

    Prototype mainboards coming soon

As far as I can see, If all the issues on the CPU board are finally fixed with the upcoming CPU board, prototype run, June 2017 should be a reasonable ETA for the first 1000 units. If not, well... Christmas 2017... Who knows... ?! 6 weeks are needed in between every failed prototype run, and...

    Power, Memory and Schematics

When we can expect some pictures/videos of a completely assembled working unit (even if its down-clocked to a 1.2 GHz), with the final case, keymat, touchscreen and so on...? Keep up the good work! Best Regards,
