And voice conversations are still better (more stable, less delay) under 3G. 4G is able to pack more calls to a single tower by essentially building in a VOIP delay and flinging packets. 5G should shorten the delay a bit, but will likely suffer more packet loss.
The place where 5G -might-...
I don't think so - I believe the mass production is still slated to be done in black.
I believe that the granite grey one in the video is a pre-production (prototype) Pyra. There may or may not be any internal hardware differences from the other prototypes that went out. I know there were...
Have there been any updated OS images that we should be looking at and or helping to test? Is there anything, "in the works"?
I.e. is there anything for us prototype people to do that might be constructive or helpful?
Do we know what the currently planned layout of the GPD WIN MAX is then? I'm curious, but don't have the time to get involved in another one of these.
I actually kind of like the one from above - that @vcoleiro1 said was an older design. It has a physical tab key left of Q, decent sized Enter...
Maybe have an official 'News Thread' that only has official bits - then a corresponding thread in General where we all go nuts?
Commentary on the news and having the threads diverge into completely off-topic things when the actual news has been slow is a bit of a tradition here though - which...
It is my opinion that the concept of our keyboard layout discussions/wars/etc caused any delay to the Pyra's release are patently false. Yes, they strung out for around a year. Yes, there was a metric ton of community time and energy put into the process. All of which happened in parallel...
I fiddled around a bit with doing that on my prototype. Until we get a working H.264 codec, playing back my .mp4 files isn't going to work so well. As is it tries real hard to software decode, but it isn't exactly fluid about it.
I know that traditionally we've all craved news on hardware...
I know it is a mild detail, but has there been any talk about swapping Caps and Tab?
I know from the Vortex Core keyboard experience that it really is a bit of a big deal. You can get used to having Tab sit where Caps 'should be', but it is annoying in a web page driven world to work with an...
When it makes it past you to the 'wall-less-void' behind you. Game area is a cube - you're effectively guarding the one wall that is 'missing'. I have seen a ton of breakout clones - they were always '2d'. This would be 3D.
Not sure why, but the above discussion gave me an idea to share. 3D pong or brick destroying game - and then some.
The screen is the 'player wall view'. One nub controls left/right/up/down of the 'paddle'. The other nub controls left/right/up/down of the player - and thus their view of the...
Not initially, no. There is a whole missing footprint for telephony and text messaging software that needs to be sorted out. Eventually? Maybe? From what I understand and can see, the hardware to do it is there. The 'if & when' questions around getting 'there' are all dependent on who...
I was a Pandora pre-order as well (~150 or so in line) and received an early-ish Pandora. As noted above, I'm a bit forward of that in the Pyra queue. :D
Right now what you see on your Pandora is a 'mature ecosystem'. Things are working - and the workarounds are pretty well known and...
It looks like Linux (and dual boot) on the Planet Computers Cosmo has become reality.
https://liliputing.com/2020/02/cosmo-communicator-can-now-dual-boot-linux-and-android-smartphone-handheld-pc.html
I don't know if it is 'full feature' yet or whether the drivers are open or other details. But...
Actually, I would say that is worse as it is eliminating the touch pad. Is the Win Max going to have a touch screen? If not, then this touchpad is the way to have mouse control while the game controls are in 'game mode'.
The keyboard is mostly okay, but they have one rather major flaw on it - they really need to swap their caps and tab positions. Tab is insanely important - caps is hardly used at all.
Vortex makes a highly compact keyboard called the Core. I have one of the early ones - caps is marked on the...
Sounds like Bike or Die. Or Geometry Dash. There are plenty of games with what can be -long- levels of "oops you're dead". But - those are mostly skill based. For an RPG to do that with what I'm assuming are random dice rolls, that is quite rough - and might need to be rethought?
