as far as the screen wearing out my bet would be on the UV ray damage from being out in the sun will damage the LCD much, much faster than the back light would wear out.
c'est domage pour ton copain, meilleure chances dans ses prochain projets.
it uses the normal hinge, that's the beauty :D
takes about 10 to 20 seconds to carefully grind the pins in the case's socket.
could be offered as an option, could be included in repairs.
but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, it doesn't hold the lid closed or fully opened with any force...
there are 4 notches in the hinge, those 4 notches match the 4 "pins" in the lid.
removing 2 of the pins lets you re-insert the hinge rotated with the pins fitted into the "wrong" notches.
old (orange) and new (green) way it fit after shaving off the 2 pins:
so the hinge/lid are still held...
you can leave it at the maximum stable speed, the power drain difference is insignificant.
The power saving is pretty good when the CPU is idle and you can press the power button to put the Pandora in sleep mode which lasts for days.
mine (a 600Mhz model) is set to 950Mhz and I never touch...
way too much drilling for my taste.
simpler, less damaging solution with no external changes:

http://rv6502.com/index.php?blog=00000014
A different hardware modification than previously posted.
does not change the external appearance
much less drilling (you don't touch the base, just the inside of the lid's back half)
no epoxy glue
it does not damage the hinge
it can be disassembled again and you can restore the hinge to its...
or put a setting to disable the wait script for the few devs who remote to their pandoras ?
would be better to have the devs disable it than have everybody else's pandora do a write/delete temporary file on each reboots.
OMG THE NAND!!!!1111!!!! :P
devs know what's up with the charger
as a...
pseudo code for shutdown script:
if charging_cable_plugged then
display "charging.png"
while charging_cable_plugged do wait;
end if
for init script:
if charging_cable_plugged then
display "charging.png"
while charging_cable_plugged && !power_button_pressed do wait;

This is bullshit.
Selling imported game consoles isn't illegal.
Sony got paid for those consoles, what people do with them afterward is none of Sony's business.
If it was illegal, it'd be the government going after people and companies, not Sony.
The fact that Craig's company didn't have the...
I paid money, received nothing, and I'm asked for almost the same amount ( double price total! ) in order to (supposedly) finally get the Pandora I ordered.
you judge.
the question Seeeejaaaay asked is:
why are people so against upgrading to 1ghz units?
... really, you gotta ask ?
because "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."
I gave money to Craig and got nothing in return, yet.
I'd feel stupid giving even more money.
ever heard of "bait and switch" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait-and-switch ?
and that is considered...
2+ digits is too much for a lot of people, they stop at the first one.
if putting the Pandora at a *99 price point means more sales and (pre-order queue clearing) that's all good.
SONOVA.... that was it.
Looks like the OMAP3 SGX EGL driver doesn't support EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY correctly.
its supposed to work according to: http://www.khronos.o...GetDisplay.html
and it does work on the PandaBoard (OMAP4) drivers.
the worst part is I *did* try that at some point...
for some reason eglCreateWindowSurface() fails now when running on OpenPandora when I build BetaBlockQuest, or anything using EGL.
on the OpenPandora it doesn't matter if I cross-build, if I build natively on OP in my debian chroot, or natively on OP using cdevtools1000,
I get the same...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Gotta love how FOSS & Linux fan-boys quickly fall out of touch with reality.
I thought this was a thread about Unity, not SDL.
Unity is a commercial game engine, its not Free Open Source Software and the target market of games made with Unity is definitely NOT people who...
