well, here's the deal
I know that the free movie player thats out, search site for divx I think and you will see it twice
It requires some MP3 text reader to be installed and then you put the movie player on also
So....
could someone please tell me how to install this mp3 text reader and then where to put what out of the divx viewer file?

AND PLEASE DONT BE LIKE
" aww man, ur cheap, go get Cinema park", or whatever the fuck it's called
I want to know how to play this player
If you cant tell me how to play this player, dont respond, I dont want a gay fight starting
SO, could someone help me set this player up?

~Octavious

I managed to get the movie player to work but it crashes randomly. Changing bitrate and framrate do nothing to stop it crashing. Thats why I stuck with the moviepark that came with my second hand gp32. It does all I need it to do.

:p

Seriously, the free DivX player was a very early development of moviepark, and is not worth the effort.

Its like asking - how do I get a fire started when I have these perfectly good and cheap matches in a shop next door. It may be interesting to find out, but after one go, it'll be matches every time :p

See what I mean?

I am not cheap , you *happy* head
I am wondering if the gp32 screen size is big enough to watch movies on, and I would like to try it with the free player
Why the *laughter* are you people so stuck up. I asked for help and I get *happiness*.
Thanks to Alpha 2 who dosnt have his head 3 feet up his *flowers* for a semi desenr answer
I want to know if the screen is big enough in my mind to watch stuff on and if it isnt, then I am going to buy an AV320. AND ANYONE WHO CAN BUY AN AV320 ISNT *happily* CHEAP! I ASKED A SIMPLE QUESTION AND IF YOU DONT HAVE A *silly* ANSWER THAN SHUT THE *kittens* UP!!! I WOULD LIKE AN ANSWER AND IF YOU DONT HAVE ONE, DONT POST ANY GAY *puppy*!!

HOW *happiy* HARD IS THAT YOU INCOMPETANT BUNCH OFF *candy* HEADS!

Because it's only a few quid, if you decide you don't like it then who cares? It's like £4 or sumthin. The same price as some shitty westlife single!

Just part with the money, all people are trying to do is save you from wasting your time.

If you want to know the size of the screen, just look at a picture on it. And it is a LOT easier to just buy GPcinema, as the free player doesn't look very good anyway, so you wouldn't get an accurate simulation anyway. The free player is a waste of time, either :wait until the end of april and get GPcinema for free or just cough up the insignificant amount and buy it.

Shame there is no ignore feature in this forum.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to respond like that. Plainly put, you sound like a dick, and this forum would be a better place without people like you who want the world handed to them on a plate.

Mods? Ban this idiot.

I have the file on my hard drive.. Ithink I know which one you are talking about...it only works on ONE particular named file:

Craig here. this info is from www.emu.pl/gp32 about how to use this great new player:

-----------

Gomwing is an author of GPMP3 Text reader, text reader with mp3 playback. This tool won in Adic2000 competition. And also this tool was unable to launch to anyone. The reason for it was that not completed package was posted on Adic page. Anyway, you need to download it as it is a common base for other utilities (link below).

Yesterday, Gomwing has released Media PLayer for GP32. Its an avi divx player with sound and running with 15 -20fps. To run it you need to download and unpack all files. Both *.fxe files go to gpmm directory. Gundamop.avi file goes to root directory (gp:). After that you can launch player. Remember that to manage it to work you need first download all that GPMP3 Text reader stuff and put it into gpmm dir. It only play this one specific avi because its a demo. but you can always put other movies named to gundamop.avi.

Ban me if you want. I just wantd some damn answers. Thankfully someone has given me a decent response
And, I wanted to try the free one because free is less than a 128 card and gpcinema and a card reader, whereas that money could almost make the amount I need for the AV320. Its a matter of wanting to wait 2 weeks untill payday, or a month and have gpcinema and an AV320. I would like to know soon, so that is why I asked this question
If you ban me, I will comeback under a new user and still help out anyway I can ( like I do right now, because I like this comunity
Its just the poeple who wont answer a simple question
So do whatever you see fit because I care not what you think will change my mind, make me feel sorry for you, or whatever reason you really want me gone for ( mabe its because I am right )
so if any mod sees fit to ban Octavious, who participates in the community and helps develop, more than most of you do, than fine
But I would like an unbiased ban based soley upon that mod's opionion of the situation.
THX and regards

You posted a question and you got answers, Simple.
If they were not the answers you expected, Then let us know in your posts/questions what answer you would prefer. But then if you knew which answer you wanted, You wouldn`t post the question. ;)

The answers you got were peoples OPINIONS towards the question/s you were asking, I thought people were entitled to their OWN OPINIONS.

Seems not.

Ps, A sense of humor wouldn`t go amiss either.

Maybe Im thinking of something else but I believe that that divx player had a limit of 6meg or something. One of them did I remember.

I admit I was just trying to help Octavious out but I dont know crap about it..

There is this one that only worked on one file name, another that had no sound or features and the last that only played files in a certain format.

Yeah, that's the one - the limit was 6mins 30 secs, regardless of bitrate (well, reducing made no difference - increasing I didn't try).

But if he's only using it to find out what the things look like on the small screen, then it'll do the trick. Good player, though a tad limited.

Not enough that I didn't manage to work out a system of directories and GPFM/comi moving and copying and renaming to watch Evolution on it though, when I was still being cheap a year ago lol ;). Both moviepark and GPCinema are a long way better than this, but this *is* a very good example of what movies should look like on the GP.
