Basically i just want to know if there is such thing as a Java emulator that would run .jar files on the gp2x...
If not how hard would it be for someone to make one ?

Thanks people !

It's not an emulator, it's a virtual machine. It's in the archive, and games were already made for it. Nagelfar knows most about this, he made quite a few games that used it.

Ok i have tested it out with a selection of different mobile phone games (j2me\jar\jad) none of which work.
However i think it plays most java applets taken from webpages. (Not in their html file though)

does this mean theres a chance of dugeon master java or would this game be too demanding for the gp2x ?

Tbh i knew nothing about that game until i done a quick google just now lol
And my java knowledge is shall we say rather patchy so correct me if im wrong.

From what i can see the game is a java remake of the original rite ?

Heres a list of each specific file if anyone want to look: Here

Anyways it does look like it is possible to do but it is a very big job the likeliness is it probably will never get done. Sorry .

J2ME as of now is not supported. Fungostar (Original creator of the Java VM for the 2x) and I were already talking about a J2ME VM but because of various reasons never started it (and most probably never will, at least not for the 2X or the 200).

Also Java Applets won't work on the 2X. Basically anything using AWT or SWING or SWT won't work only games supporting java sdl binding will work.
