With that much cooling it has to be ^^
Price/perf is hard to beat. And it doesn't have a hole or notch in the screen, the dumbest display "feature" in my eyes. Just give me a border with cameras, sensors and notification LED (!) above the screen. Also capacitive buttons below. And a proper 16:9 format. I have normal sized human hands darnit.

To get back to the topic: Just discovered there's a limited edition available which goes even further in terms of cooling. One of the means of improvement is using a back shell made from carbon fiber.
I asked AI for more info. Very interesting properties as the orientation of the strands can either thermally isolate or, in treated form, become a conductor surpassing copper:

@kuru I don't see, how a carbon fibre shell shall be usefull then. If you want it structurally strong, the fibers need to go along the shell shape, but then it's insulation. If you want it to be a good conductor, the fibers need to be perpendicular to the shell shape, but then it loses its strength. Plus, it won't reach 800 W/mK, since a wide bundle of very short fibers would be more like a dust than a solid form. I.e. they need to be embeded in a matrix like an epoxy, which surely won't be as good a conductor. Plus, the heat couldn't spread throughout the shell shape very well. Making it a copper shell on the other hand, ...

@Djoga'Ro As far as I understand just havin crumbs of carbon fiber or graphene flakes improves heat dispersion in any material. Apparently that stuff is even mixed in with copper.

When it comes to the strands.. yeah I've been thinking about how you would align and fix them in place... why not an epoxied heatpipe-alternative? There's that "liquid metal" repair paste for mufflers etc. Maybe 3d print heat spreaders/-sink combinations? Dunno what's sci-fi or actually possible.

I mean I love me a good copper heat sink. The stuff's expensive though. Been looking through mouser's offerings. THey do have small fans, too. But nothing as tiny as the one in the phone above.

Is there a 3d model of the Pyra you can import to Fusion?

Hm, dunno how graphene flakes behave in this regard. Randomly orientatted fibers, though? Maybe? If you just want to improve on the plastics properties.

I would expect you'd need a wider diameter than with a conventional copper heatpipe.
 
People reading about raw thermal conductivity values easily forget that these values are often temperature-dependent and the interfacing of different materials matters a LOT - there is little reason to combine two well conducting materials if they interface so badly that the transition acts as a thermal isolator. Which is also why the actual performance of thermal paste is rarely related to its provided thermal conductivity and carbon cooling pads failed to surpass good paste despite their much higher thermal conductivity. Such pads are explicitly manufactured with vertical fibers, making them very brittle as well.
