Gamescom 2019

@EvilDragon does the modem need any work done? I remember someone mentioning the connection time is pretty slow for the modem, but I haven’t seen it for myself. If so, does my dev unit have a modem installed?
It takes 10 seconds on LetuxOS but 4 minutes on PyraOS to appear.
We think it has something to do with USB. So it works but has a huge delay in our OS.

Your unit has the US modem built-in, yes.

...
My only concern now is if I might be able to receive a Pyra before late November, or if there's a risk of me missing it while I'm away on holiday. My guess is that it will be closer to the end of the year or early next year as I doubt I'll be in amongst the first batch.
What about going to Germany for holidays and telling ED, you'll come pick it up? ;)

I’ve solved this issue before on different modems in Android. Should be straightforward. The fact that it comes up quick in Letux tells me it’s really just a configuration issue.

@EvilDragon when you say it comes up in Letux in 10s, do you mean on a different device (one of @hns others) or on Pyra hardware running Letux.

It shouldn't be blocking boot. The issue probably is delay in the detection of modem device ( like /dev/ttyacm0 ) by kernel. Boot may be blocked if we have some service enabled by systemd that depends on modem device and it waits for the device to appear blocking the boot process.
Here it may be two different drivers racing to work with the modem and modem activation is delayed till one driver decides that this modem is not my cup of tea. In such case we may have to blacklist the not needed driver, or remove it while compiling the kernel.
This all is very long hypothetical guess, and real situation may actually be different.

It was a bit too crowded in the booth, so building them wasn't that much fun, as the parts were all in one big box and there was a lot of other stuff to take care of, but I've already continued with everything at home.

My wife will be in Florida next week, so I have 24/7 time to work on that

In an (unfortunate) turn of events, my wife is also away for a while, so you'll ba happy to hear that I'll be spending even more time searching for snippets of news and trolling this forum ;) (keeping busy helps!)

Well the first 200 pretty easy because they got a unpopulatet Dummyboard whit a Signature and the Number, but after this ?? I don’t know..
„Whats your Ordernumber? „ (ach ja, good Old Insiders)

Was that only the first 200... I remember I wasn't as quick with ordering as I was with the pandora, but I did get a dummyboard... (Have to check the number on there)

edit: just checked the email: Placed on 05/1/2016 22:08:56 has it been that long really (ten hours late) just checked number 144..

So awesome! I've been lurking the site and forums for a while, and made the pre-order plunge last month. I'm still kicking myself for not ordering a Pandora when I had the opportunity, so I'm not missing this chance ;)

I'm super excited, thank you for all the hard work!
I have been lurking since the Pyra was first announced. I am pretty anti preorder, for pretty obvious reasons. However, ED is not a company, he is a man who has proven himself to be willing to try his damnedest to get it out, ie the pandora. So, checked in again and saw its getting close, and I had some money saved up. F it, preorded less then a month ago.

So, in the same boat I guess. :)
