Visual pinball

It's been open sourced, but it's still a windows based program. It may be possible to compile it to ARM to create a arm executable and use WINE compiled to ARM, kind of like how notaz's Blizzard ports work.

Visual Pinball is the only reason for me to even consider buying a GPD Win. I have seen reports of successfully running VP 9 in Wine. http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=27282

Best 'portable' VP experience I've had was playing VP 8 on an Asus Eee PC 700 with XP lite installed. Not sure why but more powerful Eee PC's had more difficulty in providing a stutterfree experience.
VP has been played on W8 tablets as well but I hate playing pinball on a touchscreen. From a performance pov the GPD Win should be able to run VP8 and VP9. VPX and the more demanding VP9 tables will probably not work that well.

I don't see a Wine Arm port to Pandora or Pyra happening though, it has been asked before... but it would be nice if someone proves me wrong.

Well Porting to ARM and using WINE is fairly new concept as it really only has been implemented by a few of notaz's ports and maybe ptitseb dabbled in it as well. Looking through the threads (fuzzy search) I don't see any mention of Visual Pinball being specifically done that way. I'm curious myself about doing it, using notaz's WINE port in starcraft as a base maybe.

EDIT: Someone(me) is getting back his OMAP5 devboard from RMA today, so maybe I'll try it on there as it's a bit easy to develop on.

I think ptitSeb already tried this method in 2012 https://pyra-handheld.com/boards/threads/port-request-mz800em.65171/#post-1086730
Probably didn't get a lot of attention because there is not much interest in MZ emulators ;)

You are probably right about not explicitly requesting to try this approach for VP, would be interesting to see what is possible.
VP8 is not as demanding as VP9 so that might be the best VP version to try to port to the Pandora but I don't think Wine has ever worked for VP8.

BTW. If you have VP related questions I can assist. I've played around with it for years now and still have one dedicated Windows PC for VP.
