Check monoprice for any projector accessories like things you need to hang it on your ceiling.

I have heard about monoprice. Is it just like an all around shop or just tech related?

I saw a review of the Optoma HT1080. A couple of sites claimed this one was one of the best for gaming. Any thoughts?
Got a link to the review? Can't seem to find that model, did you mean a GT1080?

My general thoughts are that if you were looking for a 60"-80" diagonal you might be better going with a 4KTV though for 125" the only sensible option unless money is no object is a projector, the GT1080 seems like a great bit of kit from my quick read of a couple of reviews though it is a couple of years old. Not sure if Projector technology has advanced much in the last couple of years though.

@Mr_Loon Yeah thats the one I meant. I thought about going 4k but there just isnt a whole lot of content out for the format yet. I would rather get a projector and a screen at 1080P and have it supported by all my devices. I have seen a couple 4k projectors but holy cow are they expensive. Maybe when they come down in price I'll just find one and swap out my 1080p projector. Sounded like a solid plan to me

I have no idea what's goin' on here, but I think you guys broke the vote counter \o/

4 times 33.3% doesn't add up. Well it does, but that won't make 100% in any way. Well done, you bug testers !

133.2% I never even noticed. Perhaps its because I added an option I had missed originally? Maybe I broke my own poll

As Lukey says, it's because multiple choices are allowed, and someone voted for more than one option. The old boards did some really weird maths that modified the results so that they always added up to 100%, but that broke the percentages. Now these boards say that 1 in four people voted for LCD, but two of those same four voted for CRT.

IS there a tech with a hands-down most recommended for gaming?

I recently bought Viewsonic pjd5134 projector for my son. He likes gaming as much as I like shrimps. More to the point-my son is happy, me too.

Is there an alternative to this projector? Does it fit for conferences and meetings?

I don't think I've used all these projector technologies.
Perhaps CRT one way back when I was at school?
But don't think I have used a LCoS one

I've a DLP one, and it's very good.
When I looked at DLP vs LED, I was reading about a downside of DLP being that it can suffer from 'rainbow' effect on the screen.
I've not noticed that at all with mine, I've used it for gaming, watching films and YT, and so far have only experienced excellent picture quality [other than the obvious when a YT is shot with a poor res camera so when blown up to 200" can look not perfect, but no fault of the projector technology I mean]

I know my viewsonic is good for gaming. But I suggest that if it's good for games, so it's good and for the conferences)) It seems to me that the projector for meetings has to project an image of a good distance.;)

Am I really the first person to suggest eidophor projectors?

If you aren't worried about cost, size, availability or convenience, they're a good choice.
