Hi

Ive been "lurking" on these boards since i first heard of the gp32x,and subsequently found out about the pandora.

Every now and then i returned to see how progress was going, and find out if the pandora was any nearer to release.

I have to admit i hadnt checked for a while, and was'nt aware of the premium order process.

Having recently had a birthday,my girlfreind decided to order the console, and now im the proud owner of a cool piece of gaming\computer history!

Ive only had the console a couple of days, and am loving it,but i have a couple of emulator related questions im hoping can be answered.

Firstly,is there a guide anywhere to the best cpu speed to run any given emulator at?

I realise different games within emulators may need more power, but is there any ball park figure for each?

Current favorites are hugo,pcsx rearmed,gpsp,pocketsnes,picodrive,gngeo,mame,mame4all,mednafen,mupen64,snes9x,and psx4pandora.

For example, running pcsx rearmed playing Castlevania SOTN,im getting either delayed or missing sound effects.

The game plays well, and music seems fine, its just the sound effects.Ive tried it at 600-750 mhz, without any difference.

Is there anything i can do about this,or is it just a limitation?

Secondly, again using pcsx rearmed but playing Blood Omen LOK,the screen is very dark, more so than darker games in other emulators.

Ive tried changing brightness, but that doesnt seem to help.Any ideas?

Finally, how many of the emulators are ongoing?Im trying almost all,so am interested in most of them.

Anyway,im grateful for any information,thanks!

Each Emulator has it's own quirks and speeds that are optimum, however everyone seems to have their own idea of what is acceptable. Find what you are comfortable with and stick with it. Except Mupen that wants you to go as fast as you dare :D

pcsl rearmed is the best PS1 emulator we have, but as you've found out compatibility isn't 100%. I'm not sure how upto date it is though, sorry.

Mine never used to do that, but now it does it all the time. I actually prefer where it never did it, because it's not neccessary, imo, as I always have my clock-speed set at the same speed 99% of the time.

Thanks guys,i'll have a play around with it a bit more over the weekend.

Are the devs still updating their emulators though?
