I think 1280x720 will be fine. I have a Nexus5 1080p phone, and I'll be damned if I can notice the difference from my former 720p OneX of same screen size running side by side (without staring exteremely closely). Even my Nexus7 (R1) tablet at 720p looks great, no issues with pixel density...
If you're brave you can open it up and see what is fried. These days electronic devices have several components which will actually blow before damaging key things (like CPUs etc).
There's several things that it could be such as a capacitor or diode. Maybe even a resistor if you're lucky (as...
I've just come into posession of a 7" LCD touch-screen and was wondering if it was possible for the GP2X to display seperate things on the main display and TV-Out?
Or does it have some sort of hardware switch?
Since I plan on putting my GP2x in my car as a media platform it'd be handy to...
umm....keyword: Debian ARM Packages
Besides, running an entire distro (which is aimed at x86/x86-64 mind you) will probably hog a tonne of resources. Then running programs on top of that will drag it down even more.
However, running a specialised stripped back distro would probably be more...
The button changes sound good!
Although there's no need for L+R to both do the same thing. It's much better if they fire their individual weapons like previously.
Most side-kicks automatically fire with the main guns and those which don't (usually the ones which use ammo) need to be used...
Seconded....
Although, i think that's the result of the GP2X controls being mapped as the joystick instead of the keyboard?
I just noticed it just now and it is basically simulating a joystick input which does the same thing on PC with skipping really fast in the menus.
You are the man!!
I remember playing Tyrian on my first Pentium computer and it rocked! Although I could never beat that darn Beer level....still can't :P
I reckon once the ingame pause/exit/change settings menu is implemented it'll be all good.
Wha....you can't plug it in while batteries are in it?
Surely GPH knows how to switch power-sources when the power supply is plugged in?
Isn't that what people are saying about the unit turning off and on again whenever they plug power in?
Well....I don't intend on leaving my GP2X permanently in the car. Which is where the beauty of a mounted docking cradle comes in :D
That way I could just switch it on, on the way to the car, chuck it in the dock, plug in the cables and I'm all good to go. That then gets around the long load time.
I'm thinking of getting myself a GP2X soon (probably the F200) and I'm wondering if anybody has ever tried using it as a Car-PC before?
Sounds like it'd work perfectly to me. I'm sure it'd be easy to find (or make, if necessary) a cigarette lighter->GP2X power converter.
Music could use the...
Try disabling "B-Vops" or "B-Frames". It tends to have sync problems on portable devices ;)
Also make sure that the audio is 44100hz (44.1khz). I don't know exactly how the GP2X video player is coded, but if it doesn't have anything to resample the audio frequency then the sound will go faster...
