    Audio devices

I've been hitting PipeWire bugs for several months since I fist decided to give it a try. It may work better than PulseAudio in the long run, but I don't think its current state is something to use as the default in any Linux distro. Maybe offer as an option for people who want to experiment sooner.

Really cool modular and freedom-respecting computer

I'd like a tablet housing with an e-ink based display. There are no e-ink readers based on Free Software right now. My current ebook reader is PocketBook Touch Lux 3 (the least non-free I found). A "normal & boring" tablet would be great to read comics too. EDIT: Maybe a two-screen tablet...

First ever revolutionary N64 Vulkan emulator coming soon – only for libretro (paraLLEl)

Pyra is very much centered around emu and this is pretty emu-centered article. Also, they intendo to port the plugin to OpenGL 4.3 (which Pyra won't run either, to be fair). Anyway, I need to learn to better choose which boards are designed to which threads. >.<

First ever revolutionary N64 Vulkan emulator coming soon – only for libretro (paraLLEl)

http://www.libretro.com/index.php/first-ever-revolutionary-n64-vulkan-emulator-coming-soon-only-for-libretro-parallei/ I hope to not be creating the thread on the wrong board again. I've looked on the whole list and I have seen no area reserved to N64 emu.

    Appimage instead of pnd?

Why are you choosing Pyra then? I'm joking, of course. But this is not in or out. Wayland is not that new just as the Pyra's SoC is not that old (you might very find bugs in drivers...).

Really cool modular and freedom-respecting computer

The way I decided the board to post was: it looks like the "appimage" thread, so I'll post in the same board. Sorry. Sorry, I've missed that. Is there a way to archive/close this thread?

Really cool modular and freedom-respecting computer

https://www.crowdsupply.com/eoma68/micro-desktop TL;DR: a standard for laptops where you can eaily (in seconds) replace/upgrade only the board/shell. It's like being able to carry your computer around on your wallet. And the best thing: the possibility to run on free (as in freedom) open hardware

    Appimage instead of pnd?

It's bad that they're fragmenting Linux community once again for this kind of project (other projects are fine when fragmented, but not this one). And security in this very project IS essential. Running random untrusted binaries on your system outside of a functional sandbox is plain stupid. We...

Google releases SwiftShader OpenGL ES software rendering library as open source

Mesa soft implementation seems to focus on OpenGL while the one from Google focuses on OpenGL ES.

Google releases SwiftShader OpenGL ES software rendering library as open source

Not sure it'd be useful to Pyra as we want to avoid running GPU code on CPU I guess. Maybe for proprietary software that turns out hard to port thanks to buggy driver like it seemed to happen once in a while in OpenPandora. http://blog.chromium.org/2016/06/universal-rendering-with-swiftshader.html

    Appimage instead of pnd?

It depends on what you call an improvement. Like I said, for me, AppImage is a big no. I don't see why to have a package manager if I don't use a package manager. So this is it, I exclusively use the package manager from my distro to manage software. I won't change that unless there is a...

    Appimage instead of pnd?

Well, I'd never use AppImage on my desktop Linux. It won't gain traction on top of my system. I'd use FlatPak tough: http://flatpak.org/press/2016-06-21-flatpak-released.html Take a look. You might like it. And I'm not sure FlatPak would work on Pyra. FlatPak requires Wayland and it's built...

Compatibility Pyra Debian and GOG.com Games

I doubt. Pyra will use an ARM processor while GOG games are made to run on the usual PC platform (i686/x86-64) and the binaries use different instructions to operate. Of course I'm not familiar with GOG at all, so please use my "answer" as a starting point to investigate yourself (does GOG...
