    DOS games, how does Pandora and Pyra compare to GCW Zero

    Alternatively, you could take a look at zerox86 for the GCW Zero as a much faster alternative to DOSBox. Zerox86 has its roots in the DSx86 PC emulator for the Nintendo DS. The game compatibility list can be found here. Duke Nukem II appears to be playable. @Pickle, The DOSBox version for the...

    Should the Codec Pack be on the repo?

    Any official endorsement by Openpandora makes it not legal to host it (assuming they see the repository as a vehicle to sell a commercial product like the Pandora). So it's best a for a third party to host it.

    Should the Codec Pack be on the repo?

    It is not about moral objections towards patent encumbered codecs, it is about avoiding being sued out of existence for shipping non-free codecs. Letting users download codecs from a third party is a much safer option. It doesn't matter if the codecs are Open Source, licensing organisations like...

    Should the Codec Pack be on the repo?

    Licensing issues are real and will make it impossible to pre-install any codecs on the Pandora by default that have to be licensed from MPEG-LA without paying massive licensing fees. You can include support for open formats like Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, OPUS, Ogg Theora and VP8/VP9 (WebM).

    GCW-Zero SE

    I contacted him about your order. I don't know if the units will be preflashed (Link ordered them without the firmware included).

    Sorry, but isn't it obvious I meant people in general? I know where ED resides and how busy he is.

    GCW-Zero SE

    To speed up the process you can volunteer to help out flashing units at Justin's place. When SNESFAN helped out 500 units were shipped out pretty quickly. I think the SE units might be waiting for the replacement dpads.

    It sounds more like an advert for MTK based socs than a genuine rebuttal.

    Mupen64Plus, Zelda Majora's Mask

    It would be nice if Ari64 could comment on it. It's like he disappeared from the scene since October.

    Kickstarter Mupen64plus -> OUYA

    Balrog and wahrhaft have made an attempt at porting Glide Napalm to the new API. But it's probably not stable enough for inclusion in upstream. The issue was that the original Glide Napalm plugin was 32bit only due to x86 assembly. Converting the assembly to C would make the project portable...

    Kickstarter Mupen64plus -> OUYA

    Port Glide Napalm to OpenGL ES. Most work will be converting assembly functions to C and porting the wrapper (Since the plugin uses the Glide API internally).

    GCW Zero - Open Source Gaming Handheld

    This resolution is beneficial because most of the software for OD is already designed for a screen with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. Scaling it to a higher resolution might actually decrease the performance. Not that I mind seeing the device having a better screen than it currently has.
