Thanks for the explanation aTc.
That makes total sense.
Very pleased with my Pyra's new wireless webcam!
Really appreciate everyone's help here.
Cheers, r
It works perfectly.
The new module accepts width and height parameters fine and I can now take photos and capture video in full HD, with the Pyra running droidcam-cli. My old Android phone works fine as a wireless webcam.
Photos taken with fswebcam and video captured on the /dev/video0 with...
Hi there Farox and aTc,
Thanks very much for your perseverance here.
The built kernel module loads fine and droidcam-cli works well. I can't seem to change resolution from SD (640x480) at the moment for photos or video, but that's probably my error.
Thanks again.
I removed the file2alias.o and sumversion.o objects and tried "make scripts" again, but it does not rebuild modpost. Also when I "make modpost" directly in the mod directory, I get the same error as above.
Hopefully we can get some help here. Thanks for all of your efforts. Droidcam works well...
Yes. when i built libjpeg_turbo. i had to update the lib path by adding to /etc/ld.so.conf.d/ and running ldonfig to apply
Glad you managed to build droidcam and droidcam-cli Farox
Like you Farox, i am still having trouble building the module with install-video
i obtained the kernel sources...
Thanks Farox.
Have installed a couple of dependencies identified and tried "make scripts"
i have the kernel headers installed of course. but think i am missing the source.
i searched the wiki but am not sure where to get the source. i know it is based on Letux and includes much Pyra specific...
Not sure if this is the right approach. i tried building the tools from the sources installed from inux-headers-5.6.19-daveiii-pyradef-aufs:
fixdep built successfully. but modpost gives me this:
rosie@zaphod:/usr/src/linux-headers-5.6.19-daveiii-pyradef-aufs/scripts/mod$ sudo make modpost
cc...
Thanks again pyrat. Really helpful. i am learning a lot.
apt list ~ramd64
and
apt list ~ri386
both return no packages.
env
does not return CROSS_COMPILE or ARCH as a variable set.
The output from the dpkg command is :
dpkg -S...
Thanks pyrat.
i installed the kernel headers with :
sudo apt install linux-headers-`uname -r`
i am not intentionally cross compiling. but i am sure you are right. i must have made a mistake and downloaded something of the incorrect architecture somewhere.
i am having fun trying to get Droidcam working on my Pyra.
it works fine on the same network with a browser (Vivaldi). with the cam running on an Android device.
i am trying to compile from source and have managed to create the turbojpeg library and droidcam-cli.
The client software installs...
Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I made a pre-preorder, received a pcb, and successfully got my Pyra. All worked well.
I meant that I missed the first batch of sata adapters, which I would like.
Incidentally, my Pyra is currently back with Evildragon as it is being repaired due to a power issue...
Me too. I expressed an interest with my pre-preorder pyra but missed the first batch.
Being in the UK may be an issue for ordering from the shop though.
I have the cables ready!
Thanks for the details. Will return tomorrow when the post office opens.
I will stop crying soon, I promise!
Thanks for all of your help. Awesome support and community.
Thanks Wally.
Yes, have tried with a number of different cables and chargers. All of which were known to work on my Pyra fine previously and work well now for charging other devices.
I think Evildragon is right and I have a failed charging chip/main board.
