    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

The converter is done already. And so far there weren't too many complaints. And I will make a custom firmware if someone has different needs.

    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

I was trying my best to do a best possible converter. It's why I was pursuing for so long the cmos 4067 chip. So far now it's very good imho. (heh... thanks to ... scare me ;) ) (not you) If you have any issues or suggestions then posting them is welcome. And be harsh if you wish. I don't deny...

    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

In the Application Note yes it's stating the 1.8V. But I was looking at that family earlier too and the pin out as well (and what I could buy). I could do a simple board using the 16F627A so why pursuit something else? After some experimenting the µC what I'm using proved to be the best...

    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

I like to be criticised especially by someone like you. You made a point the price is too high. You might be right or not. But your opinion is an important one and it will be considered. Why not? I have Microchip version, Xilinx CPLD version and two CMOS 4000 series versions done. It's not a...

    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

Look at my latest entry in GP32x archive... And my "plan" was to do only the converter. It's why I'm willing to DaveC to improve it as he is much better at mechanical work than me. The 30$ figure isn't true for the logic chip board. It was also discussed in the main thread. (you have a PM...

    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

Well... (no... I will not pursuit it thought I'd have a point but it'd not worth the price) Thank you. Your criticism is well appreciated and will be used. The price can change and it was discussed in the main thread as well. You are so sure about Atmel µC for this task? (I was considering...

    Led Blur Gp2x Port

Very nice demo! The guard shaded face plus plasma background was great!! My only complaint is it could be longer... but it's great anyway. It's showing that even without any hardware tricks excellent results can be achieved.

    D-pad Replacement Units, Some Suggestions?

Worry not about it. The price will stay in an apropriate range. Perhaps not as Nintendo being a corporate entity could not see small "bugs like us. And there would be a negative flashback of doing so but you never know... Only way what should be "safe" would be buying original Nintendo dpads...

Squidge's Mmu Hack: Discovery Of The Month :)

Once memory storage got cheaper (CD/DVD burners and HDDs) I stopped using any kind of antivirus software. I'm doing just partitions images so I can recover a system (both Win and Linux) in minutes if needed.

If You Were Going To Design A Super-gp2x

The ARM11 would be preferabe and not only because of a FPU. It has vector like processing unit too what would be very nice. With Arm9 few cycles have to be sacrificed to force a normal 32bits ALU to a vector like operations. And clock of +400MHz for Arm would make such handheld a supreme machine...

Observations Regarding Xgp Product Line Componentry ...

These restiction aren't much of restictions now. You aren't seeing much movement in this regard because of some competitions being in a way... The XGP mini does like as competent handheld save a small screen. It will be better at some things (thanks to its 3d accelerator thought not that...

Squidge's Mmu Hack: Discovery Of The Month :)

It's matter of a perfomance only - it can happen but at what speed? The speed can be increased using shortcuts like not doing alphablending or texturing at all. It will be very slow and will look like a crap anyway. But it's technically possible to have a N64 emu on GP2x. So I agree it'd be...

Squidge's Mmu Hack: Discovery Of The Month :)

N64 doesn't have any special sound processor. Most software is using MIPS cpu for that. So paradoxically it will be a least of problems trying to emulate N64 on GP2x. The worst will be z-buffer and alphablending and I will not go into texture filtering. These are always troublesome to do in a...
