One video per day - Discussions

Descent veteran here (we call ourselves Pyro-jockeys). Shout out to all the other pilots here! The Descent games never caught on as a mainstream game because of how they played. It frankly was too much for most gamers to handle, dealing with all six degrees of freedom at once. I describe...

    Nubs and a Schedule (2010-11-04)

Excellent point. Without the funding generated by Batch 1, Batch 2 wouldn't exist.

What app / game do you want to see? :)

I second Descent I/II. I want to see how it'll perform, since I'll definitely be installing it on mine :)

    ...

(I thought of Diner Dash too!) I smell a Pandora-unique game idea. It could be called Pandora Panic.

    Nubs and a Schedule (2010-11-04)

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is a PERFECT example of the absent-mindedness that permeates every aspect of my life! *takes a bow* Thanks for giving me the slap upside the head I needed, Stump :P

    Nubs and a Schedule (2010-11-04)

It's fantastic to see that things are going better now, and we can only hope for full tilt production to start again. I'd be delighted to have my Pandora by Christmas, but I'll wait my turn like everyone else! I believe I'm in Batch 2, or at least I assumed I would be. I'm not really nursing any...

    WARNING to pandora buyers

Batch 2 Pandora customer here (I'm not affiliated with the team). It's good of you to state your case as a warning, but understand just what position the Pandora team is in. This is a team of perhaps a dozen people (please correct me if I'm wrong, those more in the know) all constructing a...

    Untechnical mother needs help!

If and when you get things ordered, you might want to refer your son to this forum so he can keep tabs on things himself and join the community :)

    Status summary (2010-10-31)

I ordered my Pandora in July of this year, so I'm not counting on seeing it in the forseeable future. But I knew that when I ordered, so it's not particularly bothersome to see the development process hit roadblocks. It's really not worth getting worked up over. The OP team is doing everything...

    ISO

Oh yeah, that's a Linux thing isn't it? Native ISO mounts?

    Coming closer (2010-10-25)

I agree with you completely. The real shame is that the Pandora itself is suffering because of these companies' laziness. And now that they've been sent the message and are finally doing things right, things are taking much longer than they should have. Which really hurts everyone.

    Easiest 3D engine to use

I don't know if one of the engines previously mentioned is what powers it, but I heard Descent I/II has been ported to the Pandora. I've actually worked in that engine before (i.e. I built Descent levels). It's a decent engine, only spazzing out when it detects nonconvex cubes (which is rather a...

    The Software Suggestion Thread

Forgive me if such a game already exists, but I'd love a good tower defense game or two on the Pandora :)

    Painted cases

As far as I understand, the Pandora's case is moulded in color. That is, the plastic that's put into the moulds is already black - so there's nothing to paint. So even if it did chip, there would just be more black plastic underneath the surface.
