Luckily it's not that often a specific version of a library is needed. So most cases, a dbp compiled on buster would run fine on bookworm. I had a similar problem with CaveExpress on buster where liblua 5.2 was needed. So in these rare cases i think it's still the best solution to include the...

Not sure if I understand your problem correctly, but when a program needs a specific version of a library, I just include the required libraries directly in my program and assign the path with LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

    Release Sonic The Hedgehog 1 & 2

Something's wrong, on my Pyra at least. I put the datafiles from the steam release in the sonic1 / sonic2 data folders and renamed them to "data.rsdk". When I start the games, it happens nothing. However, I see that in the data folders some .bin and .ini files were created. Running from the...

The Rise of Pyra - A story about the past 6 months

Any more details on this? Is it regarded as a non-optimal fix so it's trapped in contribution hell waiting for approval?

The Rise of Pyra - A story about the past 6 months

Can anyone answer this? Debian 10 stays rock solid stable, so apt upgrades won't touch the timings for sure. And what exactly makes Debian 11 and 12 unstable? I guess these images use the same well-proven ram settings that are shipped with the majority of Pyras...

    Vivaldi install

Just download the browser on a computer, put it on a stick and install it on your pyra with sudo dpkg -i /your-path/vivaldi-stable_xxx_armhf.deb and it will automatically be added to the repository to get updates. It couldn't be more hassle-free like this.

I experienced this weird issue myself that I couldn't create files or folders on the second SD card slot, even as root. Try experimenting with different file systems or format yor card on a different computer.

    Current State of the Pyra

Not much progress since you left the field. - Askarus did some great research and provided a solution for the missing -_| characters, but the solution wasn't accepted to be included in the OS - We got an updated Box86 and I hope we will see an updated GL4ES v1.6 as well soon. Many thanks to...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

The consensus is: there are so many Handheld devices out there that a Pyra doesn't have the same appeal than the Pandora had back then, but the Keyboard is sooooo good. What if ED redesigns the Pyra serving merely as a Bluetooth Keyboard where the top cover has no display anymore and you can...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

Thank you very much for providing so much information about the current state and your honest assessment Askarus. After all these months of silence it feels great to have some fresh input. We all know, the Pyra is very niche. Even if all kernel and driver issues would be solved, the Pyra will...

Should I have received my final order eMail already?

An unambiguous way would be to globally replace the slashes with the chinese characters for date and month. Whether you prefer writing 03日05月2016 or 05月03日2016, it's always clear. There should be one exception however, that Pyra (pre)orders have to use the stardate system!
