    New Gp2x F-200

I have a question, and this isn't meant as a troll, but rather as a call for comparison: Why would I buy an F200 instead of a Nintendo DS? Both have dpads, both have touchscreens, both have homebrew development. I bought one of the "first edition" F100s and was never happy with the...

I Just Got Davec's Cap, Review Inside =>

That matches my experience exactly. I pushed it in as fas as I could, then freaked out when the menus wouldn't work :) After a couple minutes pulling and rotating, I got it just the way I like it. The stick is a definite improvement, I have much fewer problems with diagonals now, and it feels...

    Davec's Joystick Cap Mod

Yeah, I ordered mine last night too. I'll post my initial impressions when I get it, looking forward to lasting more than 10 seconds on Jumpman Jr :)

    Slashdot Once More...

Aargh! not again!!! OK, the first time I sided with them, but now they're just being stupid  They *know* what the deal is now, my advice to them is to get the latest source from dignsys, and cancel the contract with them. There are plenty of people right here that can take that source...

    Firmware 1.2.0

I just upgraded, no problems (no 3rd party patches/skins, using a SanDisk 1GB card). My USB on WinXP is still unhappy (Windows claims my "device is defective" unless I plug it into a USB 1.0 hub, and then it claims that my "device could work faster" - you can't win :))

    GP2X Synchro Vbl

No need to call SDL_Delay if you want to wait for vblank. From the SDL HTML manual (emphasis mine):

Firmware Upgrade Compatible Cards And Faq

Make sure that the cards are formatted using FAT32, the one I got was formatted as plain FAT.

How Much Would You Pay For A Joystick Mod?

I would recommend making a few prototypes (from wood or cheap plastic) by hand and giving them out to a few nitpicky people (just look at the forums) to test before committing to the big expensive run. Nothing will kill your venture faster than a couple dozen posts saying "smurf's new joystick...

Well ok, raise the gp2x a few millimeters. It's not like my drawing was an accurate blueprint anyway...

    Gp2x Keyboard

Hehe, we both had the same idea at the same time - must be good :)

    Gp2x Keyboard

Looks really nifty! expect to pay as much for that as for the gp2x though. Here is the manufacturer's page, where you can get a lot more info, including MSRP ($199). Add parts and labour, and we're looking at around $225-$250 for the gp2x version. Mind you, if you can afford it, it looks way...

    Just Wondering

I'm 34. My first computer was a C64 with tape drive (I was 13 at the time), upgraded a few years later to an Amiga. Played a lot with a friend's Atari ST, and (earlier) with another friend's speccy. Used DOS and different unix boxes at uni (bzflag on an SGI Onyx rulz :P) Hehe, I just...
