Itried and it made a piercing noise and all I have achieved is several dents in the gray cover and the white outer case and god knows what inside.
I have nothing small enough to get inside the gap so I used the scalpel but managed to cause some sort of piercing noise.
HEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

The GBA halo light (FYI:not as good as an afterburner) comes with a tool specifically for prying off the front window.. maybe you can get one of those replacement screen things they might have the same tool.

the hissing you;re hearing is probably just the adhesive coming loose as you pull... I'd say get the tool in there and work it all the way around the edges untill you loosened it up enough.

Update:

Tried replacing my flu's screen from gbax and the is a load of sticky tape and stuff holding the gray cover to the screen and everything!
Completly dented the white case and grey cover when opening it aswell.
Also Now when I turn on the flu there is a strange blur in the bottom left!
It is light refracting off something I think and is annoying.
It also has the polythene coverstill on the screen on the inside!
I would like to send this back to gbax to get this sorted out.

The blur is most likely caused by a small scratch on your light guide. You can't return it to GBAX. You were the one who screwed it up.

You live and learn ;)

actually, a way that works pretty well is this:

use a blade or exacto knife and remove the screen by poking it from the glass

hmmm, my text drawing isn't working...grrrr <_<

put the blade under the grey surround, then start to gradually angle it to lift up the grey surround...it should come off..

I have not actually touched anything accept the grey surround yet!!!!!
There is a load of double sided sticky tape all over the insides that is not in the gbax guide.
What is the light guide?
And before I started I asked the gbax person I got it from and they said as long as I did it the way the gbax guide said it would not invalidate my gaurantee.
There is no mention about a load of double sided stickytape inside in the guide.
Not the black adhesive strip.
Any way so it should not have all the sticky tape inside so I want it fixed.
P.S. I would even pay to have it fixed.

Its my birth day in november so I will be able to get a blu with my combined christmas/birthday money THANK GOD!!!!

Beside mine has a load of crap in it not in the guide.
It looks like a botched up job inside!

what is the light guide as I am going to open it again later.
The light guide is effectively a second screen, once you remove the grey surround, there is a clear top screen, under that, slotted into the flu strip is a second screen, take great care with this second screen as it is VERY easy to scratch and cannot be replaced.

HAvn't touched that.
The blur is caused by a yellow strip at the bottom that had a load of double sided sticky tape on it.
trying to get it off the screen I in advertantly pulled some of the tape off the yellow screen and that is causing the light to refract.
Gbax says they only repair manufacturing errors!
What do you call all this double sided tape inside my gp32!!!!!

Well, personally I think that maybe part of your gp32 was broken and somebody put the double sided tape in it to kind of hold it together. I would definitely consider this a manufacturing error though. ;)

Was there a blur before your started messing with it? If not, then its 200% your fault. Whatever device you used to pry up the screen could have pushed the doubled sided tape (which belongs there!) onto the screen where it doesnt belong.

If there are no scratches, if you didnt physically break anything, you might talk to mash and see if you can send it in to him for cleaning / screen replacement / etc...

As I understood it he didnt even get the original plastic screen out yet , or am I wrong about that? where exactly is the Flu adhesive in the GP32? below the white casing?

I can't even get the first screen out!
Its all taped together.
All I have done is slightly pulled off the double sided sticky tape.
So the light is refracting from it.
There is no damage or internal scratch what so ever.
The only reason I was opening it up was the was already a scratch on the screen.
There was a slight blur before and a patch that is darker when you turn on the flu.
I am getting annoyed.
I was told that mine would be exactly like the one in the guide.
Why is the plastic screen taped to the flu and then to the lcd screen?

I followed the Gbax guide for replacing my flus screen. The whole thing came off in one hit the screen frame, first screen and second screen, double sided tape was holding them all together.

now the light is refracting funny when I put it back together...

there goes my FLU

edit: Geez did I over react :D fixed it... it was the little white strip that sits on the light... it kind of popped out of place and sat perfectly aligned in the wrong place so... I kinda freaked out
