Nokia New Style

How retarded can they be? They bring out a games console that fails pathetically, and they lose millions of dollars, so they decide to bring out another one? Idiots.
Edit: Especially with the Nintendo DS and the PSP just around the corner.
Edit2: And still the postage stamp screen!

They Should just leave it as it is. The N gage was absolute crap and nobody bought it. What makes nokia think that more people will buy this. I say less people will buy it. THey should stick to the phone market because they'll never break into the gaming market properly

Arg the Original and the smaller version of the N-Gage was BAAAD..... It makes a horrible phone too.

They've probably sunk so much money into the project that developing it further is the only way they can get a return on it.

The meeting probably went something like:
Nokia Boss: N-Gage is dying on it's arse. Why?
Nokia Peon: It sucked.
NB: Why did it suck?
NP: How long have you got? The screen was too small, the battery life was probably too short, you need to take the battery out to change games, and Nintendo has a stranglehold on the handheld market.
NB: Okay, we can't do anything about Nintendo, but we need to get these N-Gage games sold. Make the screen bigger, cut out the mp3 player so people aren't using the phone as a phone/game/mp3 player (making the battery life longer because it's in a passive state more often), and move it's game slot.
NP: We bought a shitload of those screens in bulk - we've got loads left.
NB: Crap. Can we make it look bigger?
NP: We could turn it around.
NB: That'll do. Did the games suck?
NP: I don't know - I've got a GBA.
:D

The new version of the n-gage dosn't have an mp3 player but it does have a better button lay out and does away with the side talking crap. I think making it so that you can talk into this thing with out looking like a jack ass and the fact that it costs about half as much as the older version makes up for getting rid of the mp3 player.

I have the ngage 1, i got it cos i needed a new phone because my old one was really rubbish, and im a bit of a collector :D

I think it actually is a good move. Cutting out the MP3 player isn't the biggest deal in the world. They fixed a lot of other things. Now it just needs better games.

I applaud Nokia for making changes to the nGAGE.

Look past all the details, what happened here is people complained about the original nGAGE and Nokia are doing something about it.

I still don't plan on getting one, since I personally don't perceive the nGAGE as being better than my GP32. But the nGAGE is still a neat machine.

Similarly with the Zodiac. What a great little machine, but I don't think it's significantly superior to the GP32 to warrant me purchasing it. I can still drool though....
