Shipping/import Tax

Hi,

I've just ordered a few bits and pieces from Lik-Sang and was wondering if any of you lovely people would mind telling me how much import tax etc I am going to end up paying. I bought a GBA-SP Famicom Edition and a few cables to go with it. It weighs .80kg. If anyone can give me a rough estimate, I'd be more than grateful!

Cheers

its based on value of goods, not weight.

you should look at paying roughly 12% import tax at customs, then VAT at 17.5% on the value of the goods, not sure if the value includes customs tax or not.
so if your goods cost £10 your looking at £13.16 at the most.

depends on if they checked a little box called "Gift" and then u dont have to pay :D... Some people havent had to pay any Import tax..

wow famicom sp, they look cool :)
(sorry 2 all those gp32 hard nuts hoo will giv me a ribbing 4 sayin the gba iz cool :p )

There should be no prejudice against other systems, especially at this moment in time. GP32 is doing well for itself and GBA doesn't even need to be spoken about. They're both good systems. I'm just bored, I have nothing to play with as my GP32 is in for repair at the moment.

Thanks for your help guys n gals. Looks like I may be paying a bloody fortune!

I'm thining of buying a new BLU when it comes out.
I want to buy from lik-sang now that I know that there is a chance they will help with the tax.

I have bought other stuff from there but not that expensive...

Is the chance that I don't need to pay tax good or bad?

dude!?!
u got a gp32 for 44 bucks? wtf?

ordered my GP32 from Lik-Sang and it was a nice surprise when I noticed they have marked the package with value USD 44.35. So it went straight through Finnish customs and I didn't have to pay any ridiciulous taxes

No. You did not understand what he said.

He paid full price, but Lik Sang was nice enough to put a value of 44 on the CUSTOMS form so that he did not have to pay any IMPORT TAX, which is what this thread is about.

So the lovely people at Lik-Sang just stick a value of the item(s) to say, £32 - Which if I'm right, is exempt from import tax. I read on the customs & exise website that the limit is £46 - anything above this amount will be charged 17.5% VAT and 12% Import Duty.

Sickening, truly sickening. What's the deal with this DHL shipping I ordered, do they deliver 7 days a week? Do they avoid customs, go a different route or what? Anyone any horror stories or even better, more positive stories? :D

Yes, I paid a full prize, but I didn't have to pay any taxes (which would have been about 50 euros). Yep, I love living in Finland <_<
