Nintendo Patents Emulators

i like nintendo...
theyve done a lot of cool things.. and quite a few not so cool things.. but its all kinda good..

i think the patent is mainly to stop ppl from making lotsa $$ off something nintendo created the stuff for..

also how many ppl own the systems + all the games that they emulate?
<_<

I sort of own all the games I emulate (Have Super Mario Advance: Super Mario 2 but emulate Super MArio World on SNES, and I have German Zelda, but emulate English on SNES) :) And Nintendo should be happy if someone buys games and not the system... (1) It's legal to emulate w/o having the system (unless it has a BIOS) (2) Nintendo looses money for every system that they sell :)

I don't really care if it isn't 100% legal.... As long as it's fair (I paid for the cartrige) :)

You've got to admit, emulator patenting is a really good idea from nintendo to fight the emulator battle.

I.E. nintendo own all rights to emulate the hardware they produced

BTW no matter how you justify it all roms are illegal, I'm sorry if anyone thought otherwise but there it is. Even if you own the original it is illegal to make backups. Still, morally, it feels like it should be legal if you own the original.

Then again, who cares :D
