hi.
i dont own a gp32. i was reading some info from the site http://www.gbax.com/ which sells 2 different gp32 models.
gp32 and gp32 166mhz.

-are there different versions of gp32? or isnt it possible to overclock it manually later?

-how good is the c64 emulation? thats what i'll mainly use gp32 for.

-is it optimistic to await a pdf reader for gp32?

thanks.

There are two main catergories:-

FLU

Front lit unit,Thats your best bet.

Non-Flu

Has no light. But cheaper. Can come in a 166mhz which is the speed it runs at.

Im not sutre to be honest i have never tried it.

is it optimistic to await a pdf reader for gp32?

There has been talk but i dought it will happen.

Overclocking happens in software. when overclocked over 133Mhz, some GP32's crash, some get to 156 (like mine) and some get to 166. the 166 ones are guaranteed tio overclock to 166, if you get a normal one, about 60% of them are 166 mhz ones

Gp's at 166 are overclocked. Some GP32 will do this with no problems, others won't its luck of the draw really. Although Gbax do sell Gp's that will over clock to 166 for sure. As Far as I can see over clocking is done on programs that have that option programed into them. Not sure if its possible to over clock something that doesn't have that option written in.

I'm not sure how the C64 emulator works, but a quick search of the site should tell you. Chances are it works great. I think its called frodo.

I've heard mention of a pdf reader but was probably someone else asking about one (again searching the site will probably give you the answer)

Hope this helps.

Next time, use the help forums.

Any how, most GP32 can be clocked to 166Mhz (you don't have to change anything yourself to make it go at 166Mhz, the program you are running decides the clock speed). Some GP32s cannot reach 166, their max may for instance be 156Mhz instead. So the GBAx option with 166Mhz is just to make sure you get what that for sure will work at 166Mhz.

c64 works more or less flawlessly except that you are unable to save. I doubt a pdf reader will arise since the need for it is so extremely low. Just convert the pdf to a format the gp32 can read instead.
