Emulation

Yep agreed. You need to adjust a few options or you get the infamous screen split occurring though. I don't have my GP32 with me (I'm at work), but I think you need to go into video options and set frame sync to accurate and do something to the buffering? Arrgh damn my feeble goldfish like memory .... hello? Do I know you? What am I doing here?

even without doing that the screen split isnt that annoying, you just go into menu and then leave agaain and that brings everything back to normal. FSMS is deffinetaly the best sms/gg emulator for the gp32.

Hi

I agree about this being the best Master system EMU, but any Game Gear ROMs I try with it leave the image loking black and red and i can't make anything out well enough to play. Anyone else had this problem?

What are the extensions of your Gamegear roms? If they aren't .gg or maybe .ggg, the emu may be treating them as SMS roms, which would produce lots of nasty colours (although a bizarrely well-stretched game).

Interestingly, for some games (i.e. the ones which still work in SMS), this can be a way of stretching them so that you get the resolution of the SMS with the game (if not the right colours). I really wish I knew how it does that, because its the only form of stretching I've seen that does NOT result in pixellation...

Very true.I noticed ths , I was desperate to save james pond :p

The Game Gear ROMs are all listed as GG rather than SMS in the ROM list so I assume that the emulator has recognised that they aren't Master System ones. Also, the screen area is smaller and the in-game configuration options are different so I thnk it has correctly recognised it's a Game Gear ROM, but just isn't displaying it right. It's wierd, as it happens with more then 1 ROM and they play OK on the EMU on my computer...
